What are you reading?
I'm sorry you didn't like it as well as you wanted to. I hate it when that happens. Good luck with the next one. Maybe I shouldn't have gotten them all for you at once...
Niiiice!!! I bet that she's going to love it! Did you suggest it?
You know, I am going to read the Dance to the Music of Time series - I seriously must be missing something. Also, the ratings only get higher for each book. It might be something that I need to try to take up during the summer. Oh, and I'm thinking of sending a message to someone on goodreads who has read it and gave it a five star rating, and ask them what the deal is. I'm not giving up!

I'm working on Enemy Women: A Novel right now. It's an interesting book about the Civil War in Missouri. I'm also finally finshing Woyzeck on Dailylit.com. I've signed up for Villette next. I think that dailylit is going to be easier in English. I think I didn't read Woyzeck every day because the switch from English to German for just a few minutes was too much work. I think my other German books for this year will need to be on paper...
Nicole really wants to read the 2nd and 3rd books in the Genghis series. I told her that you had them and I might have to steal them from you...
No problem at all Sonja! While I really do want to read them, I keep getting side tracked. I'll give them to you, as well as Chinese Cinderella, Dawn, and Day! :)
So... after 3 days and 10 pages, I have (for the time being) given up on The Three Musketeers. I'm not sure I have the patience to read it right now. On the other hand, I'm flying through Villette...ordering up to 5 parts (longest length) each day. I'm taking a nice lunch break and reading. It makes the day seem not quite so long even when I'm there 12+ hours. Villette is a book that it's easy to escape into.
Villette sounds good! I think I'll check it out next.
Oh - I REALLY think that The Count of Monte Cristo is MUCH better than Three Musketeers.
Oh - I REALLY think that The Count of Monte Cristo is MUCH better than Three Musketeers.
I'll start with that one sometime after tax season and then go to the musketeers. I was having a hard time keeping track of which gentleman was which and who was doing what. I just don't think it's a good book to read when I'm tired...
I just finished Rebecca - loved it! I couldn't put it down after chapter 19... let's just say that the book took a twist that I hadn't predicted. I'm currently working on The Other Boleyn Girl, and listening to the audio book of The Piano Teacher. (Still reading The Three Musketeers and The Tale of Despereaux: Being the Story of a Mouse, a Princess, Some Soup and a Spool of Thread.)
I don't understand how you can be reading/listening to so many things at once. I'm working on 2 and sometimes have to think about which one I'm opening...
Okay, it's pretty easy - I can only listen to the book in the car... and Three Musketeers is just a little every day via dailylit.com... Despereaux is a young adult story with short chapters, so it's easy to read just a chapter or two at night with Anja. :)
I finished The Zahir last night and am going to finish Villette soon. I'm thinking about reading Les Misérables as my next dailylit.com book, but I'm not sure which paper book to read next.
Ohh cool! I'm almost done with The Other Boleyn Girl. I think I'm going to tackle Zipporah, Wife of Moses: A Novel next since I checked it out from the NLPL almost two weeks ago... :)
(Still working on Three Musketeers, can't wait to finish it! I want to read Villette! Also listening to The Piano Teacher, which isn't bad.)

I have Zipporah, Wife of Moses: A Novel if you want to return it and borrow it from the Sonja Christen Library. Villette is very good. I'm glad I'm reading it online so that I can translate the French parts online as I'm reading. There's not a whole lot of French and I don't really think you HAVE to translate it to understand it, but since it's so convenient, I am.
I also have Sarah: A Novel and Lilah: A Novel by the same author as Zipporah, if you like it enough to read more by him. I liked Sarah and Zipporah the best of the three...
I just finished The Other Boleyn Girl, and I think I'm going to do Outlander as my next ebook. I can't wait for Friday! I want lunch with Sonja!
Me too! I can't wait to have lunch with Sonja!
I started The Handmaid's Tale last night and just received my first installment of Les Misérables. How are you liking The Piano Teacher? It's one I might be interested in stealing for my drive to Cincinnati in May.

I LOVED Les Miz... I've read it three times, but the first time I skipped the 300 pages on the Battle of Waterloo. :) So, I've read it 2 3/4 times.
The Piano Teacher is good. I'm about 2/3 of the way through. I'll try to remember to bring it to you on a flash drive on Friday. :)

I really hope she can make it... Sometimes I feel like she's not able to keep up with me. Do you want me to bring Zipporah with me on Friday?
Lol... I'm not going to give up on this one. It's hard because, like the last one, I just want to keep reading at the end of a "part". They have chopped it up just right to make you keep going. Though, it could also have to do with the time of year and my lack of motivation. I'm already feeling burnt out and the long hours haven't really started yet... I need to take more time off earlier in the year this year. I think I waited too long last year and, while it was fun to have most of November and December off, I don't think it was the best use of my vacation time as far as recovering from tax season is concerned.
Les Miz is an awesome books! I've read it three times! :)
Yeah, you should take some time off earlier in the year. When's the earliest you can take a little of the time?

Probably May. I'm planning to go to Cincinnati for a long weekend sometime in May and then Germany for a week in June.
I should finish The Piano Teacher today. I think you'll like it! :) I'll get in on a flash drive for ya. Any other books you might want?
Generally surprises from you are a good thing... Maybe not House of Leaves... though I still intend to finish it!
Ummm sorry about that one.... :) I've got an idea for you. I don't know if Wimmie can find it, but if he can, I'll get it to you asap.
No problem! I just sent an email to Wimmie asking him to find it. It's the audio version of Outlander. I bet it's good! I love the book, but if the audio version does the accents, ohhhhh, I'd be tempted to switch!
Do you have The Gargoyle? That sounds like a really good one. But that one might be better on paper...
I had just borrowed it from the ICPL... you know, I could borrow it from them for you. I quite enjoyed it, and I'm "friends" with the author!
Darn... Wimmie can only find the 7th Outlander book on audio. However, there's still time if you don't need it until May! :)
lol! I won't need any audiobooks until mid May, so take your time. I'll read the gargoyle in book format eventually, but I'm not sure I'm ready for it yet anyway. It was just a random thought.
YAY! The Three Musketeers is done! YAY! I'm not sure if I've ever been happier to finish a book. Ugh!

I'm still working on The Help - Skeeter is having dinner at Stuart's house. I think I'm going to try to finish up Eating Animals, and start Rebecca.
