Jennifer J. | 561 comments We are doing great! One week in and we've finished 26 books! We still have 55 books to finish all the UNO hands and next week the mini-challenge will start. I'm excited to see what they come up with for this month.

Remaining cards:
0/Z - 1
1/O - 5
2/T - 5
3/H - 6
4/F - 5
5/I - 7
6/S - 3
7/V - 3
8/E - 6
9/N - 5
SKIP - 4
REVERSE - 1
WILDS - 5

We only have two colored cards left....both Yellow 6. I should have one completed by the end of the day and I do have the other one at home but if someone else reads one that will fit we will definitely use it.

Great job everyone!!

Andrea (dreakay) | 192 comments So I just read Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur today (because I'm late getting it back to the library... oops). I'm not sure if it can count though. It is 204 pages but I can't find it on the arbookfind.com. I did however find it on another site but just am not 100% sure that it will count. If it does I'm not too sure it will fit with any cards either lol. http://www.readinglength.com/book/isb...

www.readinglength.com says it has a wordcount over 64,000 si I'd say it counts, but I think the chief should decide=)

I think it definitely counts because it meets both requirements of over 100 pages and over 25,000 words. I used it for a SKIP card.

Jennifer J. | 561 comments I finished Smut by Alan Bennett so now there is only one colored card left....a Yellow 6 which I do have a book for but I can honestly say I'm not terribly excited to read it *sigh*

I had a lot of short books which makes it easier to knock a bunch out.

Going to a dental gathering the next two days, so not sure how much reading I'll be able to do.

message 724: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer J. | 561 comments Hopefully your dental gatherings are more fun than conferences I have to attend...normally I end up drinking waaay more coffee than I should in an attempt to stay awake!!

Silje (sikna) | 908 comments Always too much coffee. I have learned to bring my knitting, that way I don't fall asleep during lectures =P

Jennifer J. | 561 comments I finished The French Kiss (Detective Luc Moncrief, #1) by James Patterson and used it for a 1. Tell Me No Lies by Lisa Hall (alt) was frustrating! The MC was such a pawn. I wanted to smack her. Ugh!

Any word on a mini? WooHoo!

message 734: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer J. | 561 comments That does get frustrating! I've had to put books down and walk away for a break from the nonsense before.

message 739: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 908 comments I know I will read a book or two from the Kate Daniels-series this month, so I can use those for part 1 (author of team names) and 3 (name in book from team names). I've already read the first one though, so part 2 doesn't work. However, I have the first Harry Dresden book if nobody else have a book they plan to read that fit part 2.

message 743: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer J. | 561 comments I think this mini-challenge would be another good one where we "claim" tasks so we don't accidentally double up. What do you guys think?

Sounds good to me=)

message 745: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 908 comments For the Scrabble-part, should we make words first and then find books for the letters or read planned books, see what letters they fit and make words from there?

message 746: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer J. | 561 comments I also have a Jojo Moyes book for Part One.

I'm torn on the scrabble part. I almost feel like we should do words first so we can focus on completing them because we will only get credit for one unfinished word at the end. But I'm willing to do either.

message 747: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 908 comments In that case should we try for 7 letter words since they give more bonus points? It's not too many vowels, mostly just E-s, and some of the more basic consonants are missing:P Anybody creative with words?

message 748: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 908 comments I could probably get hold of a book from Sophie Kinsella or J.D. Robb at the library, but I don't have any at the moment.
