Do you like it? I'm planning to read it for long time and haven't start it yet.

Yes, it was good. I thought it was going to be a "lighter" read, but I still enjoyed it.

message 856: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments That is one of those books I finished almost in one sitting (holiday times and work was sooooo slow and the boss wasn't in *grin*).

I really enjoyed it. Not quite as light as you'd expect, as Christine said, but definitely interesting food for thought.

Annalisa | 1659 comments Are there any letters we are missing to finish a word? I will probably only have time for one more book this month, maybe two, and I'd like to make it something we can use.

message 861: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments We are looking really good with the words, a few more books and we've completed all of them! :D
We do need a couple more Y's though, so if you have something that fits it would be really great!

message 862: by Annalisa (last edited Mar 26, 2017 09:17AM) (new)

Annalisa | 1659 comments Wow, I didn't think we would be able to complete them all. I'll go through the books I have and see about finding a Y.

message 863: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments We have 7 books being read, after that we only need 4 more and we're done for the month :)

message 864: by San (new)

San (btsentence) | 119 comments I am reading Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli and will finish it about Tuesday or Wednesday

Title Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda
Author: Becky Albertalli
Characters: Simon, Nick, Leah, Abby, Martin Addison, Bram Greenfeld, Cal Price

message 865: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments I'm almost done with You so that'll take care of one of the Ys.

message 866: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa | 1659 comments I'm listening to After You but I'm not sure I'll finish it before the end of the month. I think I'm about half way through it, but I don't think I'll be driving enough to finish it.

I'm looking through my books, and so far I haven't found a Y, but I'm sure I will. I have a huge volume of Yeats's collected poetry somewhere if I don't find something else.

message 867: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments I could nudge you toward Poison Study :-) It has a Y character and is an awesome book!

Also, I finished You and I'm really not sure what to make of it. Very odd book but it's one of those that makes you think and leaves you wondering what on earth you have just read.

message 868: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa | 1659 comments You could but I was picking something from my collection. Mostly because the Library is closed today and I don't do e-books.

I found Life of Pi by Yann Martel. I've been meaning to read it for years, so now is the time, right?

message 869: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Sounds like a plan!
I've had that one sitting on my shelf for a while now as well but haven't been able to bring myself to read it. I saw a part of the movie and it was so weird! Besides, it looked like block text when I briefly flipped through, and I'm having trouble with that lately.

LaurLa | 1005 comments Annika wrote: "We only have S left to fill (When the currently reading books are finished) :)"

I am currently reading an S title.... should finish sometime today/this evening. But if someone else posts first, no worries!

message 875: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments That is fantastic!! :-)
Almost completely done with everything! :-)

Books still needed to finish the hands:
Chris is reading Practical Demonkeeping.
Lauri is reading Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts 1 & 2.
Lauri is reading Dying for a Cupcake.

message 876: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Also, I'll finish Darkness Unbound tonight for one of the scrabble letters. I'll pick up The Secret Garden and Wonder after that, but I'm not sure I'll manage to finish one of those before the 31st. We'll see. Otherwise they'll be my first books for April :-)

message 877: by Annalisa (last edited Mar 27, 2017 10:10AM) (new)

Annalisa | 1659 comments When do we get the cards for April?

I've read to page 5 in Life of Pi and I'm wondering if it will get more interesting. Normally I reserve the will it get better until I'm at least 25 pages into the book. The introduction was interesting, so hopefully it will pick up a bit. The other Y book I have is a monstrosity, but I'm beginning to wonder if it would have been more interesting, From Third World to First by Lee Kuan Yew. I didn't think a 700 page book was a good idea though especially since it is a history of Singapore, which I'm sure would be interesting but wouldn't be a quick read.

message 878: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments April cards will be up soon :-)

Ah :-/ That is definitely early to ask that question already. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
The other one does sound interesting but certainly not like it'd be a quick read. It's the kind of thing that's probably best savoured over a period of time.

message 879: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa | 1659 comments I'm saving it for after Uno. I lived in Singapore for a while so I'm sure it will be a little nostalgic.

message 880: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Then I would definitely leave it for non-challenge times so you can enjoy it to the fullest without having a deadline.

Yes, yes, you guessed right - April cards are posted!

You can have a look through them on the spreadsheet and Annika will soon post a little summary as well :-)

You will notice that we have another hand added this month, a special hand at that as it is made up of only cover colour cards. So when you're choosing books for this month, please take the covers into consideration. (Preferably covers where it is clear what colour they are without having to "hmm" and "uhm" over that question.)
