Card 3: character surname with H (Holmes)
Card 6: character name with S (Sherlock)

This month the mini challenge is all about our team books and authors. There are 4 ways to gain points.
As a team:
1. Read 5 books by an author of one of the team names for 15 points each
Note: Individual team member can only read each author once. It is ok if more than one team member read the same author. (see example under spoiler)
(view spoiler)
2. Read one book that is one of the team names for 30 points
Note: Where a team name is a series book, only book 1 of the series can count for this part
3. Scavenger hunt character names in books. Find the first name of one of the characters from our team names for 5 points each. One name per book, maximum of 10 books. Each name must be different (i.e. 10 different names need to be 'hunted')
More about this part is under this spoiler:
(view spoiler)
You will get a 15 point bonus if your team complete all tasks for part 1-3
4. Scrabble
Create a word using the first and last letter of the team names - which words you use is up to the team - but they must be at least 4 letters long.
Read one book per letter of that word for 5 points per letter.
- 4p bonus for completed words with 7 or more letters
- 2p bonus for completed words with 5-6 letters
You can only get points for one partially finished word, i.e. if you by the end of the month have more than 1 incomplete words, you will only get 5p/book for the first word.
Example, PYRES (Yvaine is Y,E ; Buttercup is P, Kate Daniels is S, Rose Hathaway for R). Teams can complete this task more than once by creating new words, but you can't re-use letters already used.
Normal "spell-it-out" rules apply. i.e. Letter needs to be the first letter in the book title, author first name or surname, character name or nickname, or setting. Articles (a/an/the) can be ignored in the book titles. For this spell-it-out, you can also use the first letter in the series name.
This is an optional mini challenge for our UNO players.
✣ Only books read March 15-31 will count for this challenge.
✣ Please note that books started before March-15 don't count for this mini-challenge
✣ The countdown to the start of this mini challenge is here
✣ The usual book length requirement for UNO apply
✣ Books used for this mini challenge do not need to be separate books for what you are claiming for your UNO hands

I am also planning to read The Book Thief. It works for task 2

Book slumps happen, the nice thing about a team challenge is that they usually help get you back on track.
Pick a different book and go for it!! You can do it Kushmi.

Alissa and Lulu are working on their book colors and I believe are good. Kushmi admits to being in a bit of a book slump so if you want to read a book that we could use as a backup for Kushmi's 5 red then go for it!

Good choices Avni. I'm going to stick them on our March Mini challenge so we have a point of reference.

Thanks Laura, your awesome :). Hopefully will get out of it soon :). Thinking of giving Inkheart a little rest and finishing Everything I Never Told You :)

Ha, no worries, my book I was reading for 6blue is still on my currently reading shelf. Its a bit slow and draggy so taking me a while. I mentioned it to Lulu and she had a couple of books that worked out... Teamwork is great!!
Last year I was in a challenge called candyland which I absolutely loved, I signed up to do 3 of them plus UNO and ATW and then started Wobble. I felt I was on overload especially since candyland was task specific along with ATW... so now reading for a color task seems more like a chore than fun for me. I was quite happy that Lulu's books fit the task! There are so many options for UNO that I rarely feel like I'm reading for a specific task so I really enjoy this challenge more than most!! I learned a valuable lesson for me last year... don't sign up for too many challenges:-) Ha that being said, I have several individual challenges ongoing which I really like!

:). Oh. That makes me feel better. Lol. Those are the worst kinds of books, the ones that drag on forever. Makes you not feel like reading. That’s cool, teamwork is great indeed. :)
Oh my gosh, how did you even manage that. That’s a whole lot of challenges at once. I get tired just thinking about it. Yeah, UNO is awesome, no pressure. You can read at your own pace and not feel like you got homework. I guess in that case you didn’t learn the lesson :p
