Chris (inverity) | 2 comments I don't remember much of this, since i was younger when i read it (around 12) but it was long, around 400 pages in each book or so in a 3 part series, and i think the title may have the word "wonder" in it. The first book starts off with a lot of black and white illustrations of a confused girl about 12 or 13 in a large, futuristic house with her motherly robot. she doesn't appear to have any parents. i think the robot was her caretaker. in the first several pages the robot tells the MC she has to leave her house (i'm not sure why) and they leave her house for the first time ever. the entire world is pretty much forest and strange creatures. the robot dies while saving her and she goes through some more character development. the illustrations, i remember, were pretty impressive.

The book was published either in the late 2000s or early 2010s. The cover was hardcover, dead tree format and it looked very elegant, with the title on the having the futuristic font that matched the story. The only thing i remember about the author is that their last name looked italian, and I think they're a pretty popular MG writer.

(apologies for any grammar errors)
Thanks!
