DHASG June 2014 Challenge
Duration: 6/1/2014 - 6/30/2014
Progress: 10 out of 9+
1. An Invitation to a Wedding: June is the biggest month for weddings, so let's read a book which heavily features a wedding in its storyline, even if it's not the main couple's wedding:
Shaded Vision by Yasmine Galenorn - ** - 6/18/2014 - Iris's wedding
2.Let's Flip a Coin!: On June 1st, you are allowed to make a decision using a flip of a coin. I don't know if that's the best way to make life decisions, but how about you use this method to decide your next book, and the book you read will count for this challenge:
If You Have to Cry, Go Outside: And Other Things Your Mother Never Told You by Kelly Cutrone - ***** - 6/21/2014
3. Repeat Repeat Day: June 3rd is Repeat Day: Read a book you've read before, or read the same author two books in a row this month. The repeat book counts for this challenge:
Blood Rites by Jim Butcher - ***** - 6/7/2014 - 439 Pages
Dead Beat by Jim Butcher
4. Old Maid's Day: Read a book where the lead is an old maid/spinster or seems like the only one who hasn't gotten married or is in a serious relationship amongst their friends. Historical or contemporary counts:
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - ***** - 6/12/2014 - 313 Pages - In a serious relationship
5. Best Friend Day: June 8th is the day to celebrate best friends: Read a book where the lead has a strong friendship with another character that survives the test of time, or a book that features the POV of best friends:
Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead - ***** - 6/4/2014 - 594 Pages
6. Blame Someone Else Day: June 13th is the holiday where you're not responsible for any mistakes made: Read a book with external conflict, aka, a villain or antagonist, who is the reason everything goes wrong for the hero:
Beauty and the Bounty Hunter by Lori Austin - ***** - 6/8/2014 - 300 Pages
7. Friday the 13th: Oh no! Read a book to ward off the bad luck of the 13th falling on a Friday this month. The book must be scary, weird, or eerie or have a really freaky villain or character. If you can find a book where the lead is superstitious, that will count. Or you can read the 13th book in your tbr pile or a book with thirteen letters in its title. Please let us know which one you choose in parentheses:
Splintered by A.G. Howard - ** - 6/9/2014 - Weird characters
8. Your Love is Better than Ice Cream!: National Chocolate Ice Cream Day celebrated on June 7th, let's celebrate the comfort of diving into a scoop of chocolatey goodness ice cream. How? By reading a book that has a supremely satisfying romance. Love is like chocolate, get it?
Something Deadly This Way Comes by Kim Harrison - *** - 6/19/2014
9. Daddy Love!: For Father's Day, June 15th, read a book which celebrates fatherhood in any significant way:
Dad Is Fat by Jim Gaffigan - **** - 6/13/2014 - 275 Pages

To count for this challenge, you must buy yourself a new book and read it this month. You can use a free book so long as you purchased/acquired it this month. Library books and previously owned books don't count.
11.Talk Back to that Book!: In honor of National Hollerin Day on the third Saturday of the month, you can count a book that makes you talk back to it or yell at it. If you don't normally do that, use a book that inspired strong emotions in you as you read it this month.
