Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Here is our "chat room" for our sixth readathon!

I will keep this open even though we haven't started the readathon so we can talk about the books we may want to read during the week of the readathon or to get excited and pumped for the readathon!

Have fun!

message 2: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments I have to start making goals for myself!

The week of the readathon I am somewhat busy. I have half days of school all week. Graduation and lunch on one day. School trip on another. I may have to work some one of the days as well.

I will think about my goals and let you know once I figure them out!

message 3: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1726 comments I'm probably going to be busy as well. This'll be the third to last week of school, so I expect this will be when teachers pile on the homework and tests before we're completely gone, lol, so I'll try for a book every two days.

message 4: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments That's a good goal! :D Good luck!

message 5: by Mandiann (new)

Mandiann (goodreadscommandiann) | 6882 comments I am thinking of reading a rainbow of covers to celebrate the local pride week in my town which is June 8-15. I also might not get as many books read as last readathon as I want to attend many of the events they are having. I will have to visit my library and see if I can find the right covers to do this.

message 6: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments That is a really cool theme! :D I like it! Good luck.

message 7: by Vicki (last edited May 30, 2014 07:06PM) (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Today was our last day of school, so I am now on my summer break!

I am SO glad to have this marathon during the summer; however, I will be in Hawaii from June 5-12 so I don't know how much I'll get done on the 9th thru the 11th. Hopefully the flight will be conducive to reading! I'm just happy to be participating and not have to get up and go to work the next morning. LOL

message 8: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Congrats on the last day of school! YIPPEE! We have ten left (five of which are half-days.)

LOL! Have fun in Hawaii and hope you get lots of reading done on the plane! I have plane rides on the 21st of June and the 29th of June. They are both 5 hours each so I hope I get reading done on the plane when we go away too! :D

My flight is five hours too. :o)

Mehsi I am probably not going to participate. The previous one was fun, but also a bit too full of stress for me. I will just look around and chat with everyone again this round. :)

And I will still be busy with work and also with some other stuff.

This is such an awesome idea. I may copy your rainbow theme, just for your local pride week (if you don't mind).

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments It's getting close! 2 more days! YIPPEE! :D Anyone have any goals set?

message 18: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1726 comments WOOHOO! I am PUMPED! I have a horrible sense of time so the read a thon is on the SECOND to last week of school (known to 8th graders as "Death Week" because we want to get out of there :P) an the teacher know we BS it so I have more time to read :D I'll probably see if I can read 5 books. How about you?

message 19: by Trinity (new)

Trinity My summer started yesterday and I am so excited to see how much I can get done through this readathon!

I am thinking for my goals to get at least 1000 pages done which would be about 142 pages a day. I hope I can get higher though. I hope to read about 5 or 6 books!

message 20: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments I'm excited to start too! The read-a-thons are always fun!

message 21: by Mandiann (new)

Mandiann (goodreadscommandiann) | 6882 comments I have quite a bit going on next week so my goal is to read my rainbow of book covers. A few are novellas so it's really only 4 books.

message 22: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Reading is all that matters, Mandiann! I'm not in it to read the most books. Lol

message 23: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Great goals guys! I have high hopes you will all surpass your goals!

I am not sure what my goal is. Maybe 4 books? I have a trip on Wednesday, graduation lunch on Thursday, a dinner and hanging out with family on Saturday, and then Sunday is Father's Day. I hope I will still be able to read a bunch!

message 24: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Good luck to everyone on their goals/with their plans. :)

message 26: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 30284 comments Good luck everyone!

I don't have any goals because I'll be volunteering all day at a day camp so I'm not sure how much time I'll have to read.....
But I'm still excited to try! :)

message 27: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments I'm sure that you will still do great, Trisha! Have fun volunteering! :)

message 28: by Ashly (new)

Ashly (ashlyh) I just found about this read-a-thon so I have no goals, just to read. I have nothing to do that week and my labtop is broken so all I have to do is read.

message 29: by Miodrag ★❥ (new)

Miodrag ★❥ | 889 comments I can't wait for tomorrow!
I finished two books today: Uncharted (On the Island, #1.5) by Tracey Garvis-Graves Until Fountain Bridge (On Dublin Street, #1.5) by Samantha Young and now I am ready!

My goal is 7 books and of course I will try to break it! :P
I will start read-a-thon with: Down London Road (On Dublin Street, #2) by Samantha Young
