#6 Readathon: Let's Chat
I have to start making goals for myself! The week of the readathon I am somewhat busy. I have half days of school all week. Graduation and lunch on one day. School trip on another. I may have to work some one of the days as well.
I will think about my goals and let you know once I figure them out!
I'm probably going to be busy as well. This'll be the third to last week of school, so I expect this will be when teachers pile on the homework and tests before we're completely gone, lol, so I'll try for a book every two days.
I am thinking of reading a rainbow of covers to celebrate the local pride week in my town which is June 8-15. I also might not get as many books read as last readathon as I want to attend many of the events they are having. I will have to visit my library and see if I can find the right covers to do this.
Today was our last day of school, so I am now on my summer break! I am SO glad to have this marathon during the summer; however, I will be in Hawaii from June 5-12 so I don't know how much I'll get done on the 9th thru the 11th. Hopefully the flight will be conducive to reading! I'm just happy to be participating and not have to get up and go to work the next morning. LOL
Congrats on the last day of school! YIPPEE! We have ten left (five of which are half-days.)LOL! Have fun in Hawaii and hope you get lots of reading done on the plane! I have plane rides on the 21st of June and the 29th of June. They are both 5 hours each so I hope I get reading done on the plane when we go away too! :D

My flight is five hours too. :o)
I am probably not going to participate. The previous one was fun, but also a bit too full of stress for me. I will just look around and chat with everyone again this round. :)And I will still be busy with work and also with some other stuff.

I may copy your rainbow theme, just for your local pride week (if you don't mind).

WOOHOO! I am PUMPED! I have a horrible sense of time so the read a thon is on the SECOND to last week of school (known to 8th graders as "Death Week" because we want to get out of there :P) an the teacher know we BS it so I have more time to read :D I'll probably see if I can read 5 books. How about you?
My summer started yesterday and I am so excited to see how much I can get done through this readathon! I am thinking for my goals to get at least 1000 pages done which would be about 142 pages a day. I hope I can get higher though. I hope to read about 5 or 6 books!
I have quite a bit going on next week so my goal is to read my rainbow of book covers. A few are novellas so it's really only 4 books.
Great goals guys! I have high hopes you will all surpass your goals! I am not sure what my goal is. Maybe 4 books? I have a trip on Wednesday, graduation lunch on Thursday, a dinner and hanging out with family on Saturday, and then Sunday is Father's Day. I hope I will still be able to read a bunch!
Good luck everyone!I don't have any goals because I'll be volunteering all day at a day camp so I'm not sure how much time I'll have to read.....
But I'm still excited to try! :)
I just found about this read-a-thon so I have no goals, just to read. I have nothing to do that week and my labtop is broken so all I have to do is read.
I can't wait for tomorrow!I finished two books today:
and now I am ready! My goal is 7 books and of course I will try to break it! :P
I will start read-a-thon with:
Vicki wrote: "Reading is all that matters, Mandiann! I'm not in it to read the most books. Lol"This, I agree. I am just going to read and enjoy in every book and I'm really not going for first place or anything LOL It's just for fun for me!
I am currently reading two books which I want to finish so I can start tomorrow on a fresh note. I have to read 417 pages in 13 hours.. very doable! :)
Sarah wrote: "Yeah, I have to read about that amount, too... good luck :-)"What do you need to finish? Thanks, you too.
Mehsi wrote: "Good luck to everyone who is trying to finish their books. :) You can do it!"Thanks! Note to self, don't start large books two days before a read-a-thon...
I'm currently reading
. I'm hoping to finish them during the read-a-thon and maybe read some sea-breeze books by Abbi Glines
Sarah wrote: "Thanks! Note to self, don't start large books two days before a read-a-thon... "You're welcome, and that sounds like a good note to remember.
Mehsi wrote: "Good luck to everyone who is trying to finish their books. :) You can do it!"Thanks a lot, Mehsi! :)
Just a reminder for everyone: If you want to claim points in the readathon, the books must be started and finished during the readathon.
Getting excited! Trying to decide which book to start with, but I'm thinking a short novelette/prequel:
I am too, Vicki! :D I think it is always a great idea to start off with something short or quick to read! Gets you moving! :D
Okay! I finished both of my current reads so now I am not starting anything new until the readathon! YIPPEE!
Yay, Jacque! I'm still working on 148 pages. I have about 2 hours to finish them. Crossing my fingers! Lol
