June BOTM Nominations
I'll start the nominations for June's BOTM:
Deadland's Harvest by Rachel Aukes
and
Dark Recollections by Chris Philbrook
Unless there's a way to email the members of the group, I'm thinking we won't be getting many more nominations.
Mod note: I sent out an email to the group about submitting nominations so maybe you'll get a bit more activity. Thanks for taking the lead on this.

Well, there ya go. :) Me just posting away blindly. Sorry.
Any of John O'Brien's books. If I have to choose one, I'm going to say A New World: Reckoning. One of his best!
What about
It's the sequel to the first Zombie Attack Rise of the Horde which we had for review?Or
As the world dies 1
Personally I'm reading through Mark Tufo's zombie fallout and I love it, on book 3. Also started a couple other series, been on a zombie bender. If not I'd vote for the zombie recollections since I've never heard of it.
Never heard of AUD? *acts aghast*If you like Mark's stuff, you'll like it. Very comparable. O'Brien's stuff as well.
I'm still new to the zombie books, my obsession was with movies until a year or two ago I thought...I read a lot I'm sure there are zombie books..and now here I am with my own zombie section on my page :) I've always liked horror too, I still remember my first vampire book lol

Can I nominate Lockdown please? :)"
Mod Note: Negative. Please see the nomination rules at the top of the page. To quickly recap, books must be available in both print and electronic versions, and authors cannot nominate their own works.

I too want to read the JL Borne series.
Great. Z A Reicht (?) also has a Zombie series. I recommend those too. :). In addition, Jeremy Robinson - xom-b is a different type of Zombie book. I have already read it.
I read the
by Z A Recht and the sequel Thunder and Ashes, I thought it was ok. It's about the Morningstar Virus and also a YA series.
I haven't read the first book by Rachel Aukes
, Dark Recollections AUD looks cool 2.99 Lockdown is 3.99 and Last Stand On Zombie Island is 2.99. I haven't read any of the books in A New World : Reckoning 4.99. Devan Sagliani's book Ison sale 99 cents but I got it from the author. As the world dies I can read from my book- netflix. So I can't decide. I also have the j l Bourne series on my bookflix lol.So many zombies not enough time

Mod Note: The group recently had the Day by Day Armeggedon first book as a group read and the members continued a buddy read for the second two books in the series. I believe J.L Bourne was even a participant in the discussions. Depending on votes, it could come up again but may not get support since it was already read this year. Interested parties (since there seem to be several) can always put together a buddy read for the title(s).

I'm posting this book on the poll - if it wins, you get to moderate it as you are the nominator!

Hi Meghan,
I cannot post Zombie Attack! Army of the Dead as it is only available electronically.
I am posting "As the World Dies" - if it wins, you get to moderate it!
June's BOTM Poll is now open. I hope I got all the nominations that qualify. Please go vote away to your heart's content:

Ok I forget and think everyone has an ereader or a computer. ;) thank you!
It looks like A New World: Reckoning is book #9 in a series. Does each book stand alone or will we need to read the previous 8 books?
I've read all of them and they are chronologically written so to understand everything you would need to read them all.
Yes, what Shana wrote. You definitely want to start with book #1, which is A New World: Chaos. The series starts out great, but only gets better with each new book.
Sara wrote: "It looks like A New World: Reckoning is book #9 in a series. Does each book stand alone or will we need to read the previous 8 books?"Sara, I meant to reply to this specific comment when I wrote the comment above. Try out the series-- you won't be disappointed. :)
My point is that there is no way most of us can read 8 books before we start the BOTM read next week. Thus, this selection is going to exclude most of the group from the read. Since many of the people voting for this selection just joined the Zombies! group this week, I feel this is important to mention. Oh well, a BOTM with none of the "usual suspects" should be interesting...fresh meat! If this selection wins, maybe the rest of us can do a buddy read? You in, Netanella?
Good point, Sara. I guess I didn't fully understand the expectations when a book is nominated and gets voted to be the BOTM. My purpose in nominating the book was to introduce readers to O'Brien's series as a whole. As an added bonus, the Zombies! group is getting more exposure and new members. I'm surprised a group this large didn't have more people nominating books.
Well, since the author has a post on his Facebook page telling people to join our group and vote his book as BOTM (which you know, since I assume you are the same "Eila" commenting there), promotion for O'Brien doesn't seem to be a problem. I'm not a big fan of people hijacking our BOTM read for the purposes of self-promotion, so I won't be picking up any of his selections.UPDATE: Author deleted the post from his Facebook page. Thank you!!
My apologies for misunderstanding the purpose of your BOTM. There are many BOTM polls whose purpose is to promote authors. I take full responsibility for not reading your group rules first. With that said, I withdraw my nomination for Reckoning as it would be a disservice to the author and his series for anyone to not start reading the series with the first book. I'm also sorry that you are excluding a whole series based on a misunderstanding. Honestly, it's your loss. Thank you for clearing things up. Have a good day.
Netanella, will you please remove Reckoning from the nomination list? If I participate in the BOTM poll again, I'll be sure to nominate one under the guidelines of the group. Thanks for the opportunity to participate, even though I misunderstood the poll's intention. Thank you!
Shucks, I forgot to nominate:
The Undead The Two Week Compilation Days One to FourteenOver 3000 pages. An omnibus of 14 books. :)
I'll remove the book from the poll, per your request. No hard feelings, please. I would love to read the series, but I do agree with Sara - many of us who would want to participate in the this month's group read for the winning BOTM would be unable to do so if we had to read 8 books first to get a good understanding of the series.
How about a buddy read of book 1??

Please feel free to nominate up to 2 books. Since we're late with posting this, let's see how much quick activity we can make with this. What do you say about allowing nominations through this weekend, and then starting the poll for voting for our BOTM over the course of next week? That way, we can have 3 weeks to read and discuss to our little hearts' content?
Please share your thoughts or any other ideas...
My suggestion: nominations through this Sunday, June 2. Poll voting through next Sunday, June 9
