The titles may look different, but that's because in this entry which was already in the database, the title comes from the front cover. In the entry I made, I copied the title from the title page. But they are not 2 different editions, they are the same book.

Paula, the extra "edition" (the one with no cover image: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... ) is not another edition, it is an accidental duplicate record. It should be deleted.

It is a NAB, the ISBN was moved to a placeholder.
So this edition has the correct cover according to Amazon (and the link that the user added in the URL field). I'd be content to mark it as an ACE of this edition, except there's a lot of bizarre activity in the edits for that edition. Like you'll notice that the title was changed from "Down Under" to "In a Sunburned Country", and the robots do a lot of updating.
So is the right thing to do to:
a) mark that ASIN-less edition as an ACE of B00354YA2M, or
b) fix the cover on the one with the B00354YA2M ASIN, and then separate and merge it with the the ASIN-less one?
Edit: I've done some reading in past threads. It looks like Amazon pulls this switcheroo on Kindle editions often? So I guess I'm marking it as an ACE.

Anyway, they were moved to your profile by a Goodreads Employee so I am hesitant to move them away, since it might be a temporary measure done from some reason. I forwarded your request to them.

If you had checked by searching the ISBN 9780241978917 What a Carve Up!, you would have seen that the cover for it is this one
. That's why i made the change.

a)GR policy is not to change covers added to books unless proof exists that the cover was never published for a ISBN. Doing a internet search and not finding the cover is not proof or finding a different cover for an ISBN is not proof. ISBN'S get reused with different covers. A librarian added this edition and politeness would be to contact them and ask if the added the cover in error.
b) When posting in this group requesting merges, it is expected that librarians do not make changes to the editions but leave explanations and evidence to prove their request so the super can make a judgement call.
c) your the person requesting the merge it's up to you to provide proof, not me to go searching for it, but to verify what you find and what your requesting is per GR policy.
