I already combined them with the first book in which they were published so they can be merged with the most popular edition of that book.

"The Approach to Al-Mu'tasim" is a short story first published in the 1936 Historia de la eternidad (A History of Eternity) as "El acercamiento a Almotásim". It was later collected in "El jardín de senderos que se bifurcan" and became well known when it as collected in "Ficciones", but the first publication was in "Historia de la eternidad" so that's where I combined it.

"The Circular Ruins" is a short story first published in El jardín de los senderos que se bifurcan in 1941, to which I combined both editions.
The second of the editions might seem like a valid edition, but tineye revealed it an award winning BA "Book Cover and narrative sequence illustration project" http://www.vam.ac.uk/b/va-illustratio...

It is an unidentifiable copy of the short story "The Library of Babel" which was published in English, where it is combined: The Library of Babel . It can be merged with the most popular edition.

I'm not 100% certain what to do with it, but it is an unidentifiable edition, either of the book or of the short story, none of which were printed, to the best of my knowledge. Merging it with the default edition might be appropriate.
Is anyone else having trouble with deletions?I've been a Super for years, and I've been trying for days to merge this older, less complete Polish edition into it's newer, more complete duplicate before combining that back into the main The Heart is a Lonely Hunter work (because the former has 22 ratings/reviews which should remain attached to the Polish edition, not English), but while multiple deletions have produced the usual "shortly" response, two days later they're both still there.
Halp?
EDIT: Now that I look more closely, this delete-and-merge doesn't seem to have worked right either.
Hi Keith, maintenance has caused deletions to be seriously delayed (~10 days and rising, see here). Hopefully, this will be rectified within the week.

Merges are currently backed up over a week due to maintenance GR performed. You just have to wait it out.

Hi, I separated 17832311 and 20886674 from the larger group and combined the two in preparation for merging. It looked like the edition missing ISBN have only 2 ratings:
But I'm still not allowed to delete it (merge with the other).
- The 20886674 have no ISBN and incorrect year.

You are much more experienced and knowledgeable than me. If you think Collected Fictions is a more appropriate target let me know and I'll prepare them all for merge with that, it will actually make my life a bit easier.
If you can collect them up to a target, I'm happy to do them but ware the backlog!I suggest that the targets are (in order of preference):
1. Same short story in same language
2. Collected Fictions

Just asking so I'll know what to do in the future, why can't they both be deleted? Wont the adds just move from one edition to the other until only one is left with all the adds?

It messes up the system if we queue more than one merge into the same record, and if A is merged into B into C, then sometimes reviews etc. can get totally lost.

Not sure if these count as dups or not, but they're both the Audible version. One has the ASIN from Amazon, and the other has an ID culled from the Audible site's URL (http://www.audible.com/pd/Classics/Go...https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

It depends which edition is the default edition.
Merging B and C into A, where A is the default edition is no problem; not that I noticed anyway.
When a duplicate is the default edition, or when the valid editon is the least shelved edition, there might be problems when merging both duplicates at the same time.

#861 both are valid editions (Audible editions on GR can have the ASIN from Amazon or the ASIN from Audible (which is only listed in the Audible-URL) or two Audible editions with the different ASIN's like this example.)
