Oh wow! That's both terrible and hilarious.
That means one of two things: 1) your librarians got it right and therefore there are very few books categorized in AAF.
2) there's a shortage of ebooks that are light on the "e" (couldn't resist, sorry).

LOL!

That it is.
Added the three books from post #308 to the list. Looks like you are at 91 points now, only 3 points below DoodlePanda.
I am wondering what Stephanie's score will do if she reports back. She was at 46 points at the beginning of February but hasn't updated her thread since then.
Woot! I realized I have a category for Behind the ThroneNew Category: Writing

Rex Libris, Volume I: I, Librarian
Book
ABC: "R"
Writing: "a book about a book"
(This vol of Rex Libris is about the retrieval the overdue Principia Mathematica - AND the fine). ;-D
Dazrin wrote: "Does it count as a a "haul" if I received 4 books from my holds list at the library on the same day? They total over 3,500 pages since one is a collection of books 7 through 12 of the Dresden Files..."Argh! It happened again. I just got 3 more books from the library even though I only had 1 on hold (and I am still 2 down the list on it). Apparently they went on a buying spree today, which isn't a bad thing, but it would be more convenient if it had been next week. I still haven't gotten through the last set.
I ended up returning the Dresden Files collection unread. Might as well let someone else have a shot at it. By the time I can get it again I should be through this batch.
Edit: Posted too soon. Just after posting this, I received 2 more books... LOL!

I have to pick up a book today myself.
Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World by Haruki Murakami (wonderful urban fantasy/magic realism read).A book
Alphabet - W
Genre - urban fantasy
96 points.
Gave it 4 stars. As I said, it was a wonderful read, intriguing, mysterious and funny at times. I only didn't give it 5 stars because I wasn't excited by it. Generally a 5 star read for me needs to keep me gripped and tense on the edge of my seat.
A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan.A book
Alphabet - V
Miscellaneous - Music
99 points.
Just couldn't get into this one, as much as I wanted to given the subject matter (I was a punk, and loved many of the bands referenced). DNF.
Finished 2 books I should have read in high school recently. Animal Farm and Fahrenheit 451. In between I also added The Silence of the Lambs and Dresden #8, Proven Guilty.
Right now is The Way of Shadows that is taking much longer than I expected to finish.
TBR: a haul (set) of books purchased in 2017, at least 3 books < $5 US (3)XOM-B
Scan
Blood Assassin
$3.00!!
BOOOOOM!
So, we are just past the half-way point, any updates? How is summer reading going for you?I REALLY doubt I will finish a couple categories (sports, world, and TBR) but am close or finished with the others.
I see HIMS only needs 5 books to finish everything as of 3+ weeks ago.

I have been playing nothing but video games lately. O_O
Blizzard released a new character for Diablo 3 and it has been very engrossing. Plus Steam just had a sale.
I'm terrible, lol.
There's a lot I won't finish but I'm still working towards it.
I played the necromancer challenge rift but finances say I have to wait a bit before getting the full pack. I'm just "letting them work out the bugs", that's it. :)

I totally wasn't supposed to buy it and I did it anyway. Who needs to eat, lol? O_O
I've gotten my Necro to 70 and now I'm back to maxing out my paragon points. I've played a couple of the greater rifts but I find having to go into the regular rifts just to get ONE key annoying.
I am loving how powerful she can get - and exploding corpses is amazballs. I'm still working through her skillset. But its possible that the Mage is more powerful because Achron abilities.
But my favorite character is still the Paladin. My Paladin is a beast .
Crusader has been my favorite since they introduced them too, I keep going back to them. For some reason the Condemn/Akkhan's build is just so much fun.

I'm up for a 2018 discussion / suggestion thread any time I think. For the AYBABTU challenge, I only need 4 letters still for the alphabet challenge: UVXY. I just finished a short story called "Uncanny Valley" from tor.com, unfortunately I only get to count 1 of the letters. :(
Down to 2 letters remaining (XY), I might finish off that category and the TBR category but I don't think I have much chance of finishing the sports or world categories. I have no interest in the Rough Riders or the Grey Cup and finding something set in Newfoundland would be completely accidental.I have an off chance of catching up to HIMS but he 2 months behind on updates and only needed 5 books to complete all categories, so I don't expect it to last if I do catch up.

I'm so jealous, lol
Just been too busy to update here much. I managed to update the spreadsheet though. Two books left for completion. Something about getting lost and the last of my haul pile.Hopefully a little less busy and can update more here. I miss y'all.

Very well done almost reaching the goal. I'll never make it, as there are some of the challenges I'll not do (the sport ones, for instance). It has been a fun journey, though.
Yea same here, I've enjoyed the challenge even though I knew from the start I would never complete it :)

OMG I'm so jealous!!!
I have been busy...but the reality is that I'm stuck NECK DEEP in a reading slump. :-(
I have finally started a book that qualifies for the sports/baseball category, Shoeless Joe. Eventually I might even finish it. I have done a fair amount of reading but no real progress in a month and have a lot of incomplete books right now which is unusual for me. Normally I have only 1 or at most 2 going at one time if one is an audio book; right now I have 4 in progress.

Usually one (Kindle) book and one audiobook on the go, occasionally two books being read. but that's it. Otherwise it fries my brain.
I feel your pain! All of my reading has been centered on school textbooks. I miss just reading for fun, but I haven’t had the time or energy.I’ve been binge watching various shows instead and even there I’ve drifted between shows, not completing or catching up on any.
It took me a long time to finish, more because of distractions than how long it is, but I really enjoyed Shoeless Joe even though I still think I like the movie better. There are a couple scenes/changes that improved the movie.
I just need to read the last book I bought for the haul of books. Theres a reason I don't buy msny books anymore. :pTwo months to do that.
