L.J. Kane (l_j_kane_author) | 36 comments Just set up an Amazon ebook giveaway! It was so easy, and went live within 5 minutes! I clicked on the 'Make this giveaway public' option so that Amazon might promote the giveaway. They send you the link so you can share it on social media/GR etc.

Groovy Lee Yes! Prakash. Congratulations. Make sure and send me a link to your article.

L.J., I'm so glad you tried it. I agree, it's very easy, fun, and a lot cheaper than Goodreads.

I had 100 entrants in the first 50 minutes! It only cost me $9.66 for the 3 ebooks, including tax etc.

Hi T.L., I'm in the UK, and I had no problem setting up an Amazon giveaway. I paid in USD via my card (I will get bank fees of approx. £1.20 for the transaction). I just went onto my book page on Amazon, com and scrolled to the bottom, clicked on 'set up a giveaway' and then followed the prompts.

Barbara James Hi, everyone,

I have an update. I tried BargainBooksy. My launch date was yesterday, and similar to someone else who used it, I got double my sales.

Regards,

Barbara.

Robin (robingregory) | 61 comments Has anyone tried fliploud.com? They claim to have lots of followers.

Groovy Lee Good for you, Barbara! Didn't it make you feel good when you saw all those sales? I highly recommend it to everyone.

Robin, I'm going to have to ask around about that one. I've never heard of fliploud.com. I'll come back with an update...

Groovy Lee Robin, one author says that fliploud.com keeps contacting her to promote with them, and she has a feeling it's a waste of money. I would have to agree. It's been my experience that anytime a promotion site contacts you, it usually isn't legit.

Another author has never heard of it, another red flag. Hope this helps:)

Groovy ! I am unable to setup Ebook giveaway. I am getting that option for paperback only.

message 162: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Prakash, is that for Amazon or Goodreads?

Amazon only promote ebooks whereas Goodreads will only promote paperback.

Hi,

Yes, it was certainly a great experience! I'll be sure to try them again.

Khurram (theirongeek) | 21 comments My wife is having trouble promoting her books. Unfortunately with a one year running around destroying stuff she does not have much time. Anyone got any tips, especially how to set up a giveaway for review? Through Amazon UK would be great.

Thanks

Khurram

Robin Glassey | 13 comments By using instafreebie.com and mybookcave.com and offering the first book in my series for free, I'm seeing reviews appear naturally on goodreads. It's interesting, though that reviews don't appear on amazon. There's something about goodreads readers that they are more prone to give reviews.

message 166: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Khurram, if your wife's books are on Amazon, she can go to her book page and just scroll down until you see "set up a giveaway" and just go from there. I hope this helps. And I know she must be very busy, but promoting takes A LOT of time and energy if you want to see results. I wish I could hire someone:)

I am trying to setup Ebook giveaway on Amazon but could not find the option of giveaway.

message 168: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Go to the Amazon page where your book is for sale and scroll down until you see "set up a giveaway"; and the rest is easy:)

Khurram (theirongeek) | 21 comments Thank you Groovy Lee we will try that.

Hi, everyone. I hope this helps others not make the mistake I made. I took the advice of others, set up my web site as my author platform. I offered a quality product (a recipe book free), on an automated system. The response has been very low. But,
What concerns me the most, is, that no one mentioned auto systems - legally have to print a postal address. I now realise that automated systems, legally print your name and address to every customer who downloads your free item! Concerned at this practice that leaves one open to hackers or stalkers, I approached the company, who state it is a legal requirement. They recommend single woman use a PO Box if you are considering an automated system from your website. I think single woman should know this! Thanks Olwen
