Jackie | 8 comments I read this book years ago. It was about a teenage boy who gets polio. He's very sarcastic about the whole situation. His family can't handle him and send him to a home. He falls in love with a woman and gets married. I know the book was published between the 50s to early 70s...

Jackie | 8 comments I think there was also corruption within the first place he went to. The man in charge was stealing money

Was it YA or adult? Author male or female? Remember the cover?

Jackie | 8 comments Could have been a YA book I got it from a teacher when I was in middle school/ maybe high school... that's all I remember

Anna | 207 comments First book that comes to mind is Alan Marshall's I Can Jump Puddles which was first published in the mid 50s.

Doesn't seem to fit with the plot you remember though - which country was your book set in? US? UK? Other?

Jackie | 8 comments I think it was England. It definitely wasn't in the states. Could be Australian but I'm almost certain it was somewhere in the UK. The story follows him from teenage to young adult since I remember that he marries.
