Vanessa (romance_luver) | 55 comments I can't seem to find any books I want to read.. I'm at a stage where I read a blurb and think that's looks okay then read review and get turned off.. I just can't seem to find anything that screams "READ ME" and it's killing my soul! I'm sure you can relate! So if anybody can help me that'd be great!

I read a lot of genres with romance being a common theme through-out all of them. Current I want something like a paranormal-romance ideally if anybodies read 'A promise of fire' by Amanda Bouchet I want a book like that.. Hell I want the sequel! Basically anything with a strong heroine who falls in love with a stronger hero? Ideally set in an alternate universe pretty please? Paranormal, Extraterrestrial, Supernatural.. I'm feeling it all!

Some of my favourite books/series are:
The Fae Chronicles by Amelia Hutchins
Kate Daniel Series by Ilona Andrews
Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews
Night Huntress Novels by Jeaniene Frost
Mercy Thompson by Patricia Briggs
Guild Hunter Series by Nalini Singh
The Golden Dynasty by Kristen Ashley
Dark in You Series by Suzanne Wright
Elder Race Series by Thea Harrison

I'm not really a big fan of series that chop and change the MCs for each book.. about the only one I really like that does that is
Vampires in America by DB Reynolds
and even then Raphael will forever be my favourite!
I know the Elder Races does this as well but it's only recently in my starvation for books that I've read the books centring around other MCs..

So any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. if you have any questions about any books I've mentioned feel free to ask as well!

My love in advance for your fabulous help! Xx

Anahita Reid (AnahitaReid) | 10 comments Oh my gosh, I'm a huge fan of those books as well!

Have you heard of Ella Summers? She has some pretty bada$$ heroines in her books! I'd suggest reading Mercenary Magic (Dragon Born Serafina) first, Sera is my favourite main character of all Ella Summers' series ^v^ And gosh damn, that Kai! The romance isn't as graphic as some of the books on your list, but it's still there and still good XD

Hope this helps! :3

MJ | 1617 comments The Dark Age
Anathema

Not alt reality... and admittedly some of these are less than stellar editing etc, but even tho I'm pretty fussy, I love them enough to look around the few issues and reread often.
Daughter Trilogy Bundle
Captured
Seven Psychics
Relentless

Vanessa (romance_luver) | 55 comments No I haven't heard of Ella Summers but I'll be getting all over that like white on rice!! Thankyou!! It looks amazing!!

As for the other suggestions I've seen a couple of them before but read none so now I'll go and have another look through! The Daughters Trilogy is one I've been on the fence about for a while but I might revisit and read it now so thankyou!!

Anymore suggestion from people are still welcome!! :D

David (jazztea) | 66 comments The Enchantment Emporium by Tanya Huff is an excellent fantasy tale. All of the Gale Aunts are formidable and it's the first in a series if you like it.

David (jazztea) | 66 comments Kim Harrison's Hollows series is great too.

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 121 comments Skinwalker (Jane Yellowrock, #1) by Faith Hunter Faith Hunter's Jane Yellowrock series is a favorite of mine. The romance is not immediately obvious, but it has slowly grown over the course of the series. Urban Fantasy set in an alternate U.S.

Cast in Shadow (Chronicles of Elantra, #1) by Michelle Sagara Michelle Sagara's Chronicles of Elantra does not really feature a romance. Kaylin still has a lot of personal growth to go through before she's ready for a personal relationship. That's not to say there aren't possibilities for the future, just not for right now. Fantasy series set in another universe.

Urban Shaman (Walker Papers, #1) by C.E. Murphy C.E. Murphy's Walker Papers are another favorite. Urban Fantasy.

Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. Snyder Maria Snyder's Study Trilogy. Fantasy set in another universe. She has also written another full spinoff trilogy and is currently in the middle of a follow up trilogy to the Study trilogy.

Jane Yellowrock doesn't have a lot of romance, but a strong female lead definitely. Although if "Beast" had their way, there would be a lot more mating going on.

Oh and you must try Minion. There is most definitely a steamy romance, focuses on Damalia, and is a really good vampire (and other creatures) hunting series.

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 121 comments Oh, I second Anne Bishop's "The Others". I've been a fan of hers for years. Her Dark Jewels trilogy and subsequent novels are favorites of mine ... had to buy it as soon as it hit the shelves favorites.

Justin | 49 comments Did you ever read Kim Harrison's The Hollows series? The main character kicks some serious butt.
