Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments I'll be keeping an eye on when you read The Riddle Master of Hed. It's one of my comfort reads.
: )

I may have to move that one up. I believe I'm going to read Griffin's Daughter because that's where it all started but after that .....The Riddle-Master of Hed.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments I love Patricia McKilip books. There are a couple of us always trying to vote her in as a group read.

message 9: by Tnkw01 (new)

Tnkw01 | 2293 comments Mod
We should have nominated Riddle Master for March. I've already used my vote and second but I'll remember that for April.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments I've been trying to nom one of her stand alones.... The Bell at Sealey Head.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments It's not a good idea to nom two books by the same author, because the votes get split between.
Another book by her is nominated this time around.

Don't give up, I never thought Bridge of Birds would ever win.

I checked and I've never read any Patricia A. McKillip. I believe I better get that done.

Nor me. She wasn't available on the UK kindle but I think that's now changed.

I did it. I finished my first book. The Dragonbone Chair. I'll do my review in a bit. I going to start Griffin's Daughter. Since I have Ysabel reserved for me at the library I might need to do that one too. Sometimes books like these have a waiting list.

Good job!
I've been meaning to read Ysabel for a while now since Provence is where I'm from, and I really miss the castles, olive groves and, above all, the heat. The only Kay book I've read so far (Tigana) was a 'meh' for me, so I'm a bit reluctant to read his work.

message 18: by Tnkw01 (new)

Tnkw01 | 2293 comments Mod
Well, I've just started it and so far it's been different than other Kay books I've read. Just a bit more YA and Urban than his previous stuff. But I'm really liking it so far.

I preferred Tigana to Ysabel. That said, I'd prefer hot, sunny country both right now. I had to get a bus to work as the pavements were like an ice rink.

I'm about 25% through. Loving it so far. Kind of hard for me to compare to Tigana because they're such different books. I'll make up my mind later.

I know what you mean. I liked it. I went onto read the connecting trilogy - Summer Tree etc but couldn't read them in the end. They really irritated me.

Oh no, that's discouraging. Well, I'm almost half way through and I'm still loving it. One of the better YA's I've read.

Kevin | 121 comments Summer Tree is the hardest to get into, but I felt the series just got better the further in I got

No, this is only my second book by Janny but she's a great author. Her writing is so rich.
