That can be a problem. Check your PM, I've sent you a message about a source.

I really like the books by Preston and Child. I have read all but the last of the Pendergast series, but somehow missed this one (probably because it is technically not a Pendergast novel). I will have to put it on my TBR list.

Jess (mividadulce) | 145 comments Just finished Telling Tales by Ann Cleeves. When I read a very brief introduction of this book, I thought it would be one of those small town based cozy. But after finishing this book, this doesn't fall into cozy category, at least for me. Very well written and engaging, but it wasn't relaxing to read.
I still like this book very much and will follow this series, and would like to try the author's another series, Shetland Island as well.

Jess (mividadulce) | 145 comments At the moment reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer. Has anybody read this book? Such a fun and beautiful book.

It is based in Guernsey island, one of the channel islands, which were occupied by Germans during the 2nd world war. The story is about how people lived and loved during the occupation and after the war. Though it contains some heartbreaking moments, the whole book is witty and make you smile with warmth.

It's an epistolary novel and very easy to read so hope more people try this book! Especially recommend for those who enjoys British history cozy mysteries.

I absolutely loved this book and the island and its people, Jess! After reading it, I looked up pictures of it and descriptions of the landscape and WWII history (still have it bookmarked), dreaming of living on this bucolic island myself. It's a wonderful book that I would recommend to all. Thanks for your comments.

Henry in the Blood Ties TV show is my favorite vampire ever! He was even better than Eric Northman!

message 273: by BLynne (new)

BLynne Henry is one of my favorite vampires. I will most likely read the whole series. I will admit that when I read this series I have the image of the TV show Henry in my head, along with the rest of the characters.

Rebecca (mamanyt) | 129 comments I just started "Hidden Empire" by Kevin J. Anderson. I'm not generally a pure scifi fan, but this book is, so far, very well done. I may have to read the entire series! Of course, I was a huge fan of all of the Dune books, and Anderson was the co-author of "Dune: House Atreides," so there you go!

L J | 714 comments Listening/reading my way through Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series, books, short stories, deleted scenes in order. Not quite halfway through the list but in the meantime I'm accumulating possibles for next cozy series to read. Right now I'm thinking maybe one of the cat cozy series. There are several of those I haven't tried or haven't caught up on.

CherD (cheryde) | 17 comments I am reading Stormbird Wars of the Roses Stormbirdby Conn Iggulden. I love European history (Kings Queens, etc). I am also listening to Memoirs of a Geisha Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden (which is taking me forever because am only able to listen to an audio book here and there). Ever since I was a little kid I always made sure that the next book I read after finishing one was something in a very different genre. I have no idea why, just something I guess to expand my reading. So back to a cozy after I finish Stormbirds!

Wodehouse and Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K. Jerome. My next book may be The Man From the Train by Bill James, an American true crime from the turn of the last century.
