He's been busy co-writing with James Patterson. Good for kids I guess, but a shame for adults :(

I'm still working my way through the Black Dagger Brotherhood and Night Huntress series and regency romances. I've also started the New Species series by Laurann Dohner - Valiant and Justice this month. And I've been reading a lot of m/m romances - Between These Sheets, The Art of Mutual Pleasure, and Weight of the World being the best so far this month.

I'm working my way through an ARC of Nancy Thayer's newest book, Secrets in Summer. I've loved most of the books I've read by Thayer, but this one isn't as good, imo, at least so far. Maybe it will get better?

MadameZelda | 651 comments Dead to the World (Sookie Stackhouse, #4) by Charlaine Harris . I really can't stand Bill Compton.

message 107: by BLynne (new)

BLynne I finished reading The Art and Craft of Storytelling by Nancy Lamb. I did find some of the information helpful in regards to the two pieces of writing that I am currently working on. Felt that it gave me some additional ideas for outlining and mapping out my stories.

I was never a Bill fan, either. Now, Eric Northman is another story entirely! LOL

I loved that book, Marsha! In fact, I read the entire book in a day while on vacation, I just couldn't put it down :)

Marsha (marsha2c) | 41 comments Well, I'm impressed! This is no small book. The premise certainly makes the brain twirl.

Do yourself a favor and read The Bakkian series first, it serves as an introduction to Steve and his wife Sarah, who are not in The Lost City novel, but other characters from the original series are. The books are just a whole lot of fun. Most of The Tales of Lentari novels are stand alones, except for the one I am currently reading and it follow. Yeah there is a cliffhanger coming. I already have the sequel ready to go.

message 122: by C-shaw (new)

C-shaw Okay, will do. Thanks for the info.

The Prophecy (Bakkian Chronicles Book 1) is free on kindle.

message 124: by BLynne (new)

BLynne I'm starting a couple of different books. The first one is Green Witchcraft III by Ann Moura and I will be reading this one at home only. There are too many people at my work who would flip out if they saw me reading this book during my lunch break. The second book I'm starting is Dragonlance Wanderlust by Mary Kirchoff and Steve Winter.

I'm reading When Breath Becomes Air in my commuting train. So beautiful.

I'm a third of the way into it. It is a great read. Think D&D adventuring groups as rock bands/stars. "We're getting the band back together." No easy task. So much fun.

I recently read the first two books in a wonderful series, The Magpie Lord and A Case of Possession. I gave them both 5 stars. They meet a lot of the standards for a cozy (more soft-boiled), but the sex probably puts them over the line.

message 137: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (mamanyt) | 129 comments I have a LONG list of Charles de Lint books to buy. I read several of then over 20 years ago, and want to start over again withMoonheart and Spiritwalk. Although these will be re-reads, I'm counting them as new, simply because I haven't laid eyes on them since the mid-1990s, and have only a vague memory of magic and wonder and prose that I LOVED.

message 139: by BLynne (new)

BLynne Finished reading Homicide in Hardcover by Kate Carlisle. I rather enjoyed the book and I think I'm going to pick up a few more books in this series.

message 140: by Jess (new)

Jess (mividadulce) | 145 comments Just finished The Borrowed The Borrowed by Chan Ho-Kei . My first Hong Kong based mystery novel and this is quite excellent! I was a bit confused with unfamiliar names of people and locations, but it doesn't matter, very interesting, great tricks, and you'll see how all the episodes are connected as you read. Recommend it for anyone who wants to try something new and different.

message 141: by C-shaw (new)

C-shaw Sounds good! Thanks for your comments.

message 142: by Pam (new)

Pam (maddustkitties) | 3 comments I'm reading Still Life With Crows by Preston and Child. It's number 4 in the Pendergast series. So far I'm enjoying the series.

MadameZelda | 651 comments Besides a cozy, I am reading and listening at the same time to this strange, yet interesting, quirky, weird, funny book 1 A Dirty Job (Grim Reaper, #1) by Christopher Moore . I recognized the narrator's voice and it turned out to be the actor Fisher Stevens.

I was about to give up at 15 percent, but I'm glad now that I'm at 65 percent into the book and enjoying it.

I finished Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. The story is told from the points of view of three women whose children are in the same kindergarten class. There's an HBO series that relocates the setting from Australia to California. I may watch it now that I've read the book although I would have switched the roles played by Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon.
