What are You Reading Besides a Cozy?
I've become addicted to J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood. In the last 9 days I've read the first five books.

After reading it, 4 stars, definitely cozy. I'll probably use books 2 and 3 as one of the possible selections in my April serial reads.

Read this last year and really enjoyed it. The ending was a surprise!

Sounds intriguing, I've added it to my tbr. I agree about audiobooks - a good narrator can add so much more to the experience.

While I was grocery shopping this morning, I started listening to The Jury Master, by Robert Dugoni. I get a lot of strange looks when people see a cord running from my earbuds to my pocket, but I can get an hour or so of listening done while I shop :)
In the story, there have been a lot of characters and story lines introduced that don't seem to have much to do with one another, but I'm sure it will all come together eventually. So far, I like what I'm hearing...

I have gotten hooked on the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward. I'm starting the seventh book, Lover Avenged this week.

I read #1, #2 & #5 in that series. Really liked #5, not so much the other 2. Should have been right up my alley, but something just didn't click.
I think my timing was just right when I started the books. I had a friend recommending them to me a year ago, and I wouldn't have gotten into the series then.

It's certainly not a cozy, but it's still a mystery :) I'm reading an ARC of Elly Griffith's latest book in the Ruth Galloway series, The Chalk Pit. I stayed up later than I should have last night reading and I'm regretting it today.

Please let us know what you think of it. That book has been on my TBR list for a while now. I really like Ken Follett generally, but am afraid that if I read that book, I'll get swept into reading all three really long books! Maybe after I finish the "Clifton Chronicles" series.

I have felt the same way about reading the North and South Trilogy and The Kent Family Chronicles by John Jakes.

Gary, I'm always intrigued and tickled by your book choices. By the way, I looked up _Leave No Stone Unturned_ since you were reading it, and found that I had downloaded a free copy a couple of years ago. Last night I put it on my Kindle and hope to start it soon.

I am a bit behind on my review writing. I enjoyed Leave No Stone Unturned. I also grabbed it for free for my Nook years ago. Skinwalker has been on my Nook for even longer back than Dec of 2014 when I started using GR. Reading challenges help clear off the TBR. Of course I tend to acquire books on the Nook faster than I can read them up.

I have the other two books waiting in the queue. Not exactly bed reading.
The books are rather heavy

There's heavy and then heavy. . . My Kindle has been a godsend for those physically heavy tomes! No more bruised nose when I go to sleep reading and drop it on meself. Can't say the same for the psychologically heavy ones, alas. :-]

Ken Follett is the best! I hope to read _The Fall of the Giants_ soon.

Once again, I stayed up way too late last night so I could finish Whack A Mole, by Chris Grabenstein, and once again, I loved the book. Why on earth did I wait so long to read it??

Oh, I do love Chris Grabenstein! He's from my home town, so I'm also very proud of him for that. The first three John Ceepak mysteries are all 99 cents for Kindle version. Got to have!

Have you read any of his books for kids? I loved The Island of Dr. Libris and Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library. I'm hoping to get to the next Lemoncello book this month, and Home Sweet Motel is on my list too.

I saw it on the "new books" shelf in the children's department at our public library last fall, or I wouldn't have known about it either :) I'm still trying to decide if I want to read The Crossroads, the first in another of his series for kids -- I think it was his very first kids' book? -- but it sounds a lot creepier than the others.

I must put J.D. Robb on my list, never read anything by him?her? but there are so many good reviews.

J.D. Robb is a "her," a pretty lady.

J.D. Robb is a pen name used by Nora Roberts for the mystery series she authors.

(Book 6 starts in a different area of the world and so a new set of characters.)

I love the Toby Peters series. The Howard Hughes Affair is the next one up for me. I picked up Mildred Pierced when it was on sale. Open Road needs another sale on this series. I am waiting for a sale on his other 2 series as well. Kaminsky also wrote two CSI NY novels.
@ Barb and C-shaw, have you read either of Grabenstein's Christopher Miller books? Slay Ride and Hell for the Holidays

Can't say that I even knew these existed, jaxnsmom, but thanks for bringing them to my attention. Looks like either the series didn't do so well or he got tired of writing it, because there are only two books. *off to see if my library system has them available*

No! Thank you for mentioning them. I'm looking them up and adding to my ever-growing tbr list.

I did enjoy that Ann Charles book!

It sounds like a cozy to me. I've added it to my tbr, so I'll be interested in what you think of it.
