I was laughing so hard I had to pause this several times. I expected to find it fun and I did.

Audio re-read of

then listen to the next one

Looks like the cozy mysteries on my list will be available toward end of April with more in May and June.

And books checked out prior to library closure..

I've also grabbed the World Book Day freebies from amazon..

I used to love Temperance -- but I couldn't stand the priest!

I've suggested cozy mystery to others as a way to escape the stress of these times.
I'm escaping into the world of cozies but also paranormal with humor and romantic comedy because I don't want to burn out on any one genre.

I'm still reading what I had been (cozies and contemporary romance), but I know the lure of cozies. I recommend them as something familiar in a time of unknown. Though, I like the light romances I read, too (cozy romance??)
What I like about cozies is that there's no draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaama. I mean, there's drama, but things are light and the people (characters) are nice (mostly!) and things always work out. I don't want heavy right now.
I just read Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert. Great read - romance with challenged characters.

.......lies, lust & secrets in a small neighbourhood in Sandringham Beach, Australia.....if you’re a fan of Liane Moriarty, then you’ll also enjoy this one 🐥

Books are a great escape from the stresses of the world. Hope you find many cozies you to enjoy.

First two books in the Knitting in the City series by Penny Reid
Romantic comedy with suspense elements.

I liked both books but disliked the overly feminine voice Jennifer Grace used for important secondary character Steven. Grace continued to have him sound more feminine than women in the knitting club in the second book. It continued to throw me out of the story because I always wondered what woman was speaking and it took a moment to figure out it was Steven not a woman.
I like the characters and stories so plan to continue the series but if I didn't already have the audios from the library I might do kindle books only without bothering with audio.

Neanderthal seeks Human is in my TBR pile for May. I am going to read the book. I hope you liked the book despite the narration.

I enjoyed both books. Reid considers Marries to be a continuation of Seeks and I had the free box set kindle version but didn't switch to it often. Grace isn't a bad narrator but I found that one character voice confusing. Third book has a different narrator.

I've had these TBRed for a while, too.
Have you seen that it's a multi-author "universe" of books now? "Rani" posted a list last August -- now partial since more have been issued. They're offshoots of characters and settings from Penny Reid's series.

One of my libraries has some of them on OverDrive and both have some on hoopla but I just glanced at them a month or two ago when checking to see which of the books libraries had.

These books started as quirky cozy mystery series but are now romantic suspense comedy serial as the story arc has become the main plot. In Book 4, as usual, some things are resolved some answers revealed but it ends with hook for next book.

I didn't realize this series started as a cozy mystery series. I have several of the early-in-series in my romance TBR files. Will have to see what I'm missing because your note makes the series a bit more intriguing to me.

In Book One vampire Michael, who many years before had career as a detective, comes to Arizona to collect the remains of his maker and investigate what happened. He meets Miriam the Librarian and finds there's more that needs investigating. The early publicity referred to it as a cozy mystery and in a broad sense of the term it felt like it to me.

I've only read Book 1. Now you've tempted me to continue the series.
I am reading The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, a classic children's book that's new to me.

Teen/YA - not something I usually read. Dystopian - again, not something I usually read. I chose this series because it it is both and it is available from Audible Stories: Free Audiobooks for Kids.
Night Sky series, YA Dystopian, by Suzanne Brockmann and Melanie Brockmann. Narrated by Melanie Brockmann who has a youthful voice that fits the teenage girl first person narration. It's not perfect but it is listenable.
There are 3 books in the YA series which is set in the same universe as Suzanne Brockmann's Fighting Destiny books. There's world building in the Night Sky books but it is scattered through the books rather than being upfront. I'm glad I've read so many SF dystopian novels and remember a bit of Fighting Destiny which was sort of SF romance.

Today (May 20, 2020) only free romance reads for e-readers. (Maybe check May 21, 2020, too???). The site says there are 200+ available.
There are links to the biggest e-book retailers -- for EPUB readers: Apple (iBooks); Barnes and Noble (Nook); GooglePlay; and Kobo; and MOBI readers: Amazon (Kindle).
No need to sign up for newsletters, etc.; just click the links to the retailers and peruse (and get!) the freebies. Also, the last time I remember this happening, though there were repeats at the different retailers, some retailers had offerings the others didn't.
Happy hunting for things other than cozies!
