Kakashi you write so beautifully... You are quite an author yourself. I am reading Watership down now. Loved Tigana.

@ Rebecca & Gorab : I am glad you find my writings amusing :)@Rebecca: I noticed you are currently in a BR for watership down .And Tigana , it seems is loved by everyone :)
It is raining on and off like a badly tuned radio .And everything is cold and beautiful :) Finished A walk to remember In a single sitting .Friend's paperback .Mine is waiting in my Delhi book Shelf .Once in a decade of rare cosmic alignment , I enjoy a book from romance genre .so thought would write a review with a romantic under tone . Here .for good or bad it's done.Don't search for facts.I sold you some dreams there :)

Now for the last 30% of watership down and last 20% of chasing monsoon . Tigana have to wait for now and so is shesher kobita .
This place is too beautiful to plan and live , plan and read . I am happy with my 5 reads in 4 days anyway .And yes , that tea shop really had a window seat looking into the valley though couldn't read for long there .But found a reading place near a water fall , a sunrise point , a sunset point , and on a bench near a hunted house :)
Tomorrow , back to Delhi , to Bond and Christie -the two lizards in my room and my book shelf and Shanti - the ghost who lives in it .I think I should buy a book for her from Odisha .Any recommendations ? :) :P
Shanti escaped. She's inhabiting your neighbor's bookshelf now. She was very angry that you didn't take her along with. ^.^

Saga I've read only Vol1 and found it good because of exceptional artwork. Didn't find the story that interesting,... and might skip the rest of the series...

loved it . the solution was far fetched . but now that I think about it , there is absolutely 0.0005 % chance of it being possible . but then this is exactly the probability of committing a perfect crime .

Book 58:3 and a Half MurdersFormat:KU
My rating: ★★★
this one was going so great . But the ending chapters ruined it for me .actually around 30% of the book or so a crazy little idea formed in my head as in to how the crime might have been committed (the clue was in few lines I read there ) . I was so hoping to be proved wrong . But in the end every thing happened , even the sub plots ,as I have theorized . that was a big let down for me .Not that I guessed it right but that the idea was not so clever (from author's prospective and not the antagonist) . Not satisfied with the plot but the writing was good .
still ,will go for the second book of this series after few days . fingers crossed
he he.. Tarinee. Glad you likes Khsrve.
I hope as disappointed with 3.5
There was no justification of all that was done towards the end.
I guessed rightly from anagram onwards and got the whole pic after meeting Sodhis parents.
This one is my least liked Saralkar/Motkar book.

Currently reading Leave It to Psmith .Have always enjoyed Wodehouse humor and I hope this one is no exception . And relief ..a paperback after two kindle reads . yet to develop a taste for ebooks I guess .
then there is this beautiful The Shadow of the Wind paperback .then I am confused if it can be read as a stand alone .as I have heard book 2 and 3 of the series are really bad or average at-most and have no desire to read them .
And then there is this Tigana paper back .every time I think of going back to this book , I could not brave out the thought that I have to start from Dionara's pov .Not ready for that now but soon
lastly A Season Of Ghosts paperback by Ruskin Bond:) I really want to read a good old world desi Ghost story(collection) .Not those modern blood and Gore psycho Ghosts . After three and half murder I need time to recover . just A cool Indian ghost story to read while arguing with Shanti about the authenticity of the plot .
It always helps to have a Ghost in your book shelf while reading ghost stories.
that reminded me I need to ask her for BR for Hercule Poirot's Christmas soon and order two books for that matter .Last time she invited another ghost Kritika for a BR ,when I didn't asked her for one and while I don't mind Shanti staying in my book shelf , I can't stand Kritika as she would not leave my window side study table, has problem with me growing my hair long ,my food habit and and loves twilight and will go on and on about Cedric Diggory and Bella. I have to finally put a notice.
My house , my rules . Strict book talks only
which didn't go well with Bond , Christie (my pet lizards) and I have to change it to
Our house , my rules .strict book talks* only
Finally Shanti kicked her out when she argued House Gryffindor is better than house Ravenclaw . Shanti is out and out a Ravenclaw loyalist . For me , good riddance :D
*(not applicable for Bond and Christie)
i have not touched sequels of shadow of the wind and have no desire to do so. SoTW is a compete book in itself.
Why no to D's PoV? just curious. :)

because it's so sad .I could have read it with the flow but to start from there ? kind of a reader's block .

Agreed . And it felt so unnatural the way he behaved .something with the tone of narration . As if the author premeditated to make it darker whether or not it feels natural . I have read now you see me and it was a pretty dark read .But while I enjoyed(strictly in terms of reading pleasure:P) that narration , here it felt unnecessary . As if reading one of those cheap crime novels you find in Railway station /near bus-stop book stores .
Enjoy your reads with Santi. I can totally understand your mind block in starting Tigana with Dianores POV as I too am facing this block with Game of thrones.. and that too when I am 70"%in it. And Shadow of the wind can be read as a standalone. It is a beautiful book.. Serious envy going on regarding your paperback...
shadow of the wind is BEAUTIFUL!
I intend to read other 2 books sometime (though they are well known to be diaappointing), but as a standalone too it works
in fact I bought thepaperbacks after finishing ebook. I was that impressed and was sure of a 're read.
