Sterling (sterlingf) | 52 comments This year I would like to finish at least 110 books. Last year I finished 102, but I didn't finish any books for 3 months so I feel I should be able to hit 110, unless I hit another wall.

I really appreciate that you add a few keywords for the genre of each book along with your rating.

Looking forward to seeing what else you'll be reading throughout the year.

Anne Hawn Smith (hawnsmith) | 146 comments Thanks for putting your stars and book type. It really is a help. You like a lot of the same kind of books I do and I had to add some to my TBR list even though I gave myself a good talking to before I read your notes.

Susy (susysstories) Anne Hawn wrote: "Thanks for putting your stars and book type. It really is a help..."

I agree with Anne. Although it does mean that I keep adding even more books to my way too long TBR list. Thank you for that Sterling hahaha ;-) (already looking forward to your next post)

message 13: by Sterling (new)

Sterling (sterlingf) | 52 comments Thank you all for following along with my reading. I appreciate your kind words, it helps me to push myself harder to finish more books. I also have a TBR stack that is way to long. I thought the more I read the less I would have to read but it actually doesn't work that way. It seems that the more I read the more I find to read. Anyway thank you Suzy, Lisa, and Anne Hawn.

Sterling (sterlingf) | 52 comments Lisa wrote: "You're doing great Sterling. Have you discovered any new favorites?"

Thank you Lisa.
I have read some amazing books this year. I just finished reading Speaks the Nightbird by Robert McCammon which is a series but it can be a stand alone. It was so fantastic, I have already read the next in the series and bought the entire series. McCammon is new to me so it was a pleasant surprise.
I also loves Stephen Kings 11/22/63 about time travel and the Kennedy assassination, and It was a Masterpiece.
I have read so many great books that I simply can't list all of them but the ones I mentioned stand out the most. They are the books that I am still thinking about long after I finished reading them.

Yes, and so every time I read one of your reviews my TBR list keeps growing and growing lol

I haven’t read 11/22/63 but seen the show and like it very much. Want to read the book too but the show is still to fresh in my memory so I’ll just wait a while.

IT is truly simply amazing indeed! LOVED it!

Looking forward to see what great books you will be reading in 2018!

Thanks Suzy.
11/22/63 was so good I can't even put it into words. I haven't seen the show so I don't know how close to the book it was. I have read nearly every book Stephen King has written and 11/22/63 is one of the best.
Good luck next year on your TBR list.

message 25: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Speaks the Nightbird found its way into my TBR sometime in the course of 2017 and I have no idea where I heard about it :D It's definitely been moved up the ranks since you speak so highly of it :)

For some reason I've gotten sick of Stephen King. Don't get me wrong, I love his books and writing style... There was a period in my 20s where where I read nothing but Stephen King books, so I feel like I've satiated my Stephen King quota for a while :D
It, I'm just steering away from for a whole other reason. Clowns! *shudders*

Haha, clowns. I still enjoy reading Kings books but the last one he wrote with his son, Sleeping Beauties, was a huge disappointment. I honestly don't see how it could win the Goodreads Choice Award for Horror this year.

Aww I'm saddened to hear that Sleeping Beauties didn't live up to the expectations. It's waiting in the wings for me on my Kindle but I doubt I'll get to it anytime before next Autumn/Halloween :)

Know the feeling Lisa. But now, for me, it's been such a long time since I've read Stephen King that I started again this year and I liked it, so maybe I'll just go and read the remaining of his books that I haven't read yet.

Wow, impressive Sterling, congratulations!

But I must say, you really have to stop reading such amazing books and writing reviews about them, especially series, because my TBR just can't handle it anymore! I've started writing my letter of resignation.... ;-)
