Is September way too long? I'm going to put Fans of the Impossible Life by Kate Scelsa by Kate Scelsa here. Scelsa is super adorable and I love the background behind how this book was written (head over to the January discussion for more). Unfortunately, the characters didn't quite click for me and the second person narration of Sebby was very jarring. It is still something I could recommend to my teens looking for LGBTQ+ lit, but I didn't like it as much as I wanted to.

Melissa (readinthecorner) | 108 comments I can't believe I forgot to post here when I finished A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court! I literally sought this book out again because of this challenge and WHEW! Thank goodness it's over!

I added this title to my TBR back in February 2015 (according to Goodreads). My boyfriend said it was one of his favorite books and he encouraged me to read it again when I read Kindred a few months ago and LOVED it (both have similar themes of time travel/social commentary). So THIS WAS IT. It was time to read Mark Twain's enduring classic of satire.

And... ugh. I slogged through this and finally got the audio, placing it on x2 speed. The book was too frequently overwhelmed by details that "pacing problems" doesn't begin to describe it.

But I did it! Thank you Pop Sugar for pushing me to reach my goals!

Now let's never speak of this again.

Book boxes are a double edged sword- you hopefully love what's in it but don't normally have time to read it when it arrives. I think I am 3 or 4 months behind in OwlCrate now.

Ashley (ashezbookz) I just started getting owlcrate - but I'm in a book club that forces me to read the book each month.. so, that's at least a good thing lol

That's a really good thing! I wish Owlcrate updated their Goodreads more, to reflect the books after they've sent them. I only know a few people getting these books and they're like me- behind on reading them lol.

Never had to read this in high school, and it has been on my to-read list for sooooo very long. Glad I finally got to read it (and ended up reading it 2x).
