I was excited to start this series..."
I really ended up enjoying that series!! I was thinking there was no way I would like as much as Vampire Academy but I liked it more by the time I got towards the end of the series. :)
Sooooooo disappointed in the Vampire Academy movie..... (I just had to say that because it's a joke here at our house at how much we did not like it!)

That great to hear! I'm hoping that'll be the case for me too, especially since I already loved this first book so much. :)
I haven't seen the movie since reading the books, and don't really remember it all that much, but watching it did make me want to read the series so I guess it wasn't all bad for me at least. lol

Another awesome book in this new-to-me series. The world of the Psy-Changeling is still being developed and it got a little confusing with the PsyNet, NetMind and Web of Stars. But still a very enjoyable read.
I love the characters that have been introduced so far and I'm really looking forward to learning more about the mysterious Dorion. Ready to start Book 3 - Caressed by Ice!

I'm reading the books in publication order and it's my first time read them. I thought this was a good story, but I didn't enjoy it as much as The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Peter and Susan weren't as much fun, maybe because they're older and are outgrowing being there, but Lucy and Edmund were a lot of fun. Caspian was okay, but I didn't really care for him all that much. Still, I enjoyed the journey back to Narnia and will hopefully read the next ones in the series sooner than later.

Had a really great holiday even with a cold!

I've read my assassins book and will post when I get to a computer. Have not been home much this weekend. :)

As a mystery reader, thoughtless suspense plots in romance always dim my enjoyment of the book, no matter how much I enjoy other parts. As much of a stretch for a woman to fall for a man who's paid to kill him, I would have let that go if we didn't have killers who seem to materialize when the heroine is by herself, or the inspector who just shows up as the hero is about to kill the bad guy. Enough!
The best part of the book was the narrator's voice for Arden - right on point! and the love scenes of course. These two are the reason why I'll continue reading the series.

I've had this book forever on my TBR and I'm not sure why it took me so long to read it. I enjoyed the suspense and trying to figure out "who did it". The main character, Will Robie, was an interesting guy to get to know. As one of the best assassins in the US, he was very cut off from everyone and seemed to like it that way. When a job he was hired for went wrong, he ended up feeling responsible for a 14 year old girl. The relationship that developed was very endearing as both of them had walls a mile thick. It was easy to connect with the characters and become invested in what was going to happen to them next and would they have a 'happy ever after' when all was said and done. There was also a little bit of a love interest with the MC and a co-worker that had me rooting for them. This may be my first David Baldacci book, but definitely not my last.

I've never read any book by Baldacci either but this sounds good! I'll add it to my TBR.

No luck, I tell you...

And this is not a very easy shelf either! I've spent a good chunk of time checking out the lists and so far everything I feel like reading isn't there...

I'm going to read:

The Light Between Oceans

Shelf #14 ~ 4/19: Available at Library

Book: The Light Between Oceans

Rating: 4 stars
How it Fits: Tagged 11x (first page of called shelf)
This was one heck of an emotional roller coaster and had me sucked in at about 20% into the story. The book flipped back and forth from when Isabelle and Tom first met and "present day". It was a beautiful and heart-wrenching story. The characters were so well developed that I just felt like I knew them and was right there with them through it all. I'm so glad I was able to read this book and now wonder why I hadn't read it sooner.

Can't say I liked anything about this book. Neither the characters, plot or narration seem to do it for me. I didn't get the mix of depressing subject and very inappropriate humor. I hated what the supposedly honorable brother did to his family and best friend. Not interested in continuing the series.

Book: Mine to Possess by Nalini Singh

Review:
Mine to Possess is not as strong of a story as previous ones in terms of the romantic relationship. Clay and Talin met as children and get together again after 20 years apart. What makes this book great is what it contributes to the overall story arc. Tally brings in the "human" connection completing the circle of Psy, Changeling and Humans living together in the same world.
We learn of even more corruption in the Psy, as well as several other characters with less than perfect Conditioning. We are introduced to a few of the "Forgotten", who are mostly human with varying strengths of abilities. Other Changeling species are being introduced as they join in the fight against the Psy.
The series can really go in any direction now. Dorian continues to have a huge presence and I'm really looking forward to learning more about him. Highly recommend the series.

Review:
This was a big book, almost 600 pages, and it did feel that way, but it was still a good story and I liked it a lot. My favorite part was probably the historical scenes, they were very interesting and gripping. I wasn't expecting the story to be told from a guy's point-of-view, I don't always like those too much but this one was quite enjoyable. I'm definitely curious to read the next books and hope to do that in the coming months.

Liked the main characters but this author's suspense plots suck. How am I to believe that the bad guy survived a ship explosion? Who the hell saved him? Will continue reading the series because I really enjoy the narrations.

By the by, the latest shelf made us 3 away from bingo for a second pattern! So now, we need either:
- pattern 1: owned not read yet, UF, angels
- pattern 4: shifters, steampunk, angels
Angels works for either pattern so I'm really hoping we get that one next week. :) Still nobody is closer than 2 stamps for the win.
Megan - How are you doing with your 'assassins' book? We need that for pattern 4.

So needless to say I'm cruising through the new sites looking for a book that fits (preferably audio)....it's like finding a secret stash of books. I promise I will decide on one tomorrow. :)
