2017 Year Long Reading Challenge - Conquer Historical Romance

Yes, please and thank you! I am not in KU. I've thought about it; but with my local library, Cloud Library, and Hoopla, I have not been lacking books to read.

What is cloud library?
The libraries I use don't have a good selection of HR. I have Overdrive with 3 library systems and Hoopla. I'm not happy with their HR that the have. Also the main library I would use for hard copy books is lacking in a good HR selection.
I offered these Viking books because if I were doing this challenge, I would hate to pay for a book in a dreaded category.
If you decide to borrow, please pm you email addy and which book you want to try--or both.

Cloud Library is programmed by 3M. If your public library participates, you simply create an account with your library card number.
I will send a PM shortly.

I've lost Hoopla though >:(

I've lost Hoopla though >:("
Aw, a tradeoff! Although both have both, my impression is Hoopla has a better audiobook selection; and Cloud Library has a better and more revolving ebook selection. With CL, it's best to read a book within 9 to 12 months of release, or it might disappear.

What will you read for Medieval?"
I just finished the first book in the Westmoreland series. For my second book, I was thinking something by Kathryn Le Veque.

I was thinking The Fallen One or The Savage Curtain simply because I own both Kindle versions in a box set.

I still haven't read them though.

I read it for the challenge and loved it. Such a sweet story.

I did the same thing. I coudn't get into the first story in the set, so I never started the other books.

I'm glad you enjoyed Alrek.
It's the sweetest story and one of my favorite tropes!

I kept looking to see your updates or a review for Alrek and when I didn't see it/them I thought you read it, hated it, but didn't update or review because I had loaned it to you.

Wow!
I still have 3 more to go which includes Tudor. I guess I am going to push it to the last, like I did last year.

I am thinking to read Skye O'Malley for Tudor...I think.

Great! I am excited and will definitely keep an eye out.

I plan to use the September Group read for my second Pirate, but I am falling off the wagon with Tudor.

Thanks for the link! I read one of these last year. I might try The Queen's Handmaiden. I like the books I've read by Jennifer Ashley.

Midnight Marriage? *Face-palm*. It is written on the cover of the book and yet, I didn't realise it till now. But I have a perfect excuse for missing it. I never looked beyond that cover model:)

We can do a Buddy read. Just let me know when you would like to start. I can wait.

Excellent. Just let me know when you're ready. I'm at 24% but will slow down."
I Started the buddy read thread.

Congrats!
It is going to take me the rest of the year but I am determined to complete the challenge this time.

Congrats on finishing the challenge!
Wow! Only one 5-star rating!"

We are here to cheer you through the challenge:)

Prince of Dreams by Lisa Kleypas. I read this for Time travel.

I love many LK's books. This and 2nd book of Berkeley- Faulkner's are awful reads for me. I couldn't stand the Hero of this book.

Nice job. What did your read for those two categories?"
Elizabethan
The Magnificent Rogue by Iris Johansen - completed 5/5/2017, rated 3 stars
Letter of Love by Virginia Henley - completed 9/23/2017, rated 2 stars
Tudor
Mary Tudor by Victor Hugo - completed 10/8/2017, 5 stars
The Victor Hugo play was the only one I enjoyed, but both it and Letter of Love were short. The Magnificent Rogue was long and mediocre.

I have two Viking kindle lendable that aren't very long.
1) Alrek --the Viking doesn't do anything accept help the heroine--a little over 80 pages
2) Insolent --this is a KU book, but if you are not in KU, I can lend. This has a slight paranormal element.
I don't think either of these Vikings HR have what probably make you dread Viking titles--not very long either.
