Hi Rebecca!
Totally personal preference. I usually post as I finish a pick, but I've also noticed some participants post at the end of the month.
Whatever works for you is fine :)

Kiara I'm just starting The Making of Us by Lisa Jewell. I did read Raze but i started it two days before this month so it didn't count. But i do rate that book 5/5 stars because it was just so amazing.

Chan | 5093 comments Waiting For You (Beautiful Surrender, #1) by Ava Claire
My review is below. I didn't really care for it. I would really like to read more short stories/novellas. So, I would appreciate any great suggestions that you can offer.

That was fast!
description/
Writing: Don’t remember there being any mistakes. Decent writing. 1st person narration. 1 POV.
Characters: The main character is Melissa. Her very soon ex is Jason. Her best friend is Stacia. The owner of the vacation rental is Logan. Not much else to tell about the characters, the story didn’t really delve into their personalities. No believable chemistry between characters.
Storyline: Melissa is dumped, she leaves for a 3 day vacation and sleeps with someone else. THE END…literally. The beginning started out pretty good. I was hooked. But once Melissa reached Santa Cruz, the story reached warped speed.
description/
The events were so unbelievable. This book is the very reason why I have such a problem with novellas or short stories. I cannot connect with them at all.
Erotic Scenes: I’m assuming the rest of the books in this series will transition into BDSM. This book had one vanilla scene.
Overall, I did not like this book. Two stars for the beginning of the story hooking me.

I'm so glad you liked it. I got turned on to the series from a pick-it-for-me challenges last year. One of many good authors and books I've been exposed to from this challenge.

Nancy H | 1111 comments Hi Christine,
I just finished my first pick, When You Give a Duke a Diamond When You Give a Duke a Diamond (Jewels of the Ton, #1) by Shana Galen , and it was REALLY good. It was much better than I expected, because it was so much more than just a fluffy romance - there was a big mystery, lots of intrigue, and lots of really good characters. I will probably read more in that series because I was so impressed. Thank you for the pick - I would not have found it had you not recommended it.

Meanwhile, I am on to my second one, or to be honest, the three more that I have started - lol!
Happy reading to you!

Glad you liked it, Elke! I'm a little ambivalent about her writing...really loved the first one or two that I read, but then as I continued the series they started to all sound the same and there were some things that really annoyed me, too. Haven't tried one in quite a while, I should probably give her another shot sometime soon...

Pam | 1048 comments Vandhana, finished Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger . It was slow in the middle but I enjoyed the ending and the combination of urban fantasy and steampunk. I suspect this is one of those series that gets better as it develops. I am glad to have read it. This is one of those books that has been recommended to me over and over so I have put the next one on the TBR.

Hi, Pam.
thank you for the marvellous choices. I'm going to try to get to all the books I currently own, since I am in a buying moratorium and the only new books that are going to show up are the ones that I have pre-ordered. I have put the others on a price drop watch list, though, so hopefully I can get them eventually.

What I have read so far: Cast Off - this was actually better than this author usually is for me, and I gave it 3 stars.

Dirty - this had insta-lurve and a short time period, both of which I normally dislike...apparently it makes a difference if the writing is good, because I gave it 4.5 stars.

Crazy Little Thing - I wasn't really expecting to enjoy this, but it was light-hearted and heartfelt, so I gave it 4.5 stars.

In the Absence of Light - I can not say enough good things about this book, and only one bad thing. (editing). Loved it. 5 star read from me; my first for 2017.

I'm in the middle of Bad Things, which I was put off because the author mentioned something about addictions in the dedication at the start, and I just didn't want to deal with it. (part of the reason why I have a book-buying moratorium) However, I'm over half-way through now, and I am enjoying it. I also plan to read The Art of Fielding and Signs, and I'm hoping to get to The Wall of Winnipeg and Me and Obsession.

Thanks again!
