just saying, this is an impossible goal as if you were to actually read 1,000,000 pages in the year, you would have to read roughly 2,740 pages (about 10 300 page books) a day. aint nobody got time for that. i'm just being logical here

this isn't individual challenge. I agree with you that it's impossible (at least for most) to read million pages in a year.
That's why we are doing this as a group. Anyone can add their read pages to group effort. Point is not only to read million pages but to see how long it's going to take us and how high we'll get in a year.
For example, last year all of us here read 2,212,831 pages and it took us 139 days to read first million.
We are already behind this year :(

That is correct. You add to the person before you. And if you mess up there are people who check and fix it.
