Jennifer | 38 comments Just want to sneak in with my worst of 2016...

My best went on Maryse's blog.

Tabula Rose by Kitty Thomas and
Guns Blazing by Andrea Smith and Eva LeNoir

Nay (4ukcats) Count me in as another one who sometimes feels like odd man out!

Leslie--I've noticed lately that you and I often like the same books.

And I SO agree with Jan! I didn't care much for the first Rock Chick book either. As a matter of fact, I was pretty disappointed in it (and I had a lot of book friends at the time who were as well). But I ran out of K.A. books to read, and decided I was going to start with the 2nd one and give the series another try, and I LOVED all of the rest of them!

Sure, one or two weren't quite a good as the rest, but by far, #1 was my least favorite.

I have to say I enjoyed Indy & Lee.

message 105: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments One of my all time favorite KA books is Heaven and Hell! As far as Rock Chicks I didn't care for book 2, Eddie's and Jet's book.

Anna, I haven't given Maryse my list either. I posted my list on GR but I'm t..."

I haven't either, and I also probably won't. Since I didn't start really reading again until mid-year, I don't have a full list of ten books.

But here are my faves:

An Exaltation of Larks by Suanne Laqueur An Exaltation of Larks by Suanne Laqueur
A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner
Balance (Off Balance, #1) by Lucia Franco Balance by Lucia Franco
It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover
Feverborn (Fever, #8) by Karen Marie Moning Feverborn by Karen Marie Moning
The Curse of Tenth Grave (Charley Davidson, #10) by Darynda Jones The Curse of Tenth Grave by Darynda Jones

And these are my least favorite:

Harley & Rose by Carmen Jenner Harley & Rose by Carmen Jenner--DNF'd
The Divorce (The Relationship Quo, #1) by Nicole Strycharz The Divorce by Nicole Strycharz--DNF'd
The Not Gate (Tom and Alice, #1) by Tammy Bench The Not Gate by Tammy Bench--DNF'd
Pretty Lost Dolls (Pretty Little Dolls, #2) by Ker Dukey Pretty Lost Dolls by Ker Dukey--2 stars

Ela | 4291 comments Pretty Lost Dolls - *shivers* and while I'm at it I'm shivering remembering Pretty Stolen Dolls - PSYCHO ANYONE???

message 108: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments I rather enjoyed the Lost Dolls series myself. Creepfestorama!!!

message 109: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Tabula Rasa.....the absolute worst book of the year for me! 1 star!

message 110: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Yup Tabula Rasa was one giant WTF????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 111: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) Thanks R. And I totally agreed with your comments on the rock chicks :) Loved the rest of them, tho some were definitely better than others. Leslie, seriously, you should try them again - the guys are smokin' hot alphas. I had a lot of enjoyment out of reading those books. Yeah bev, I liked Indy and Lee, in the other books, but somehow never really connected with them in the first book. Maybe KA got into her stride with the series after the first book. Happens sometimes.

message 112: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) Ooh. Glad I didn't go down the Tabula Rasa path LOL.

R, I hadn't come across Balance. I will check that one out :)

message 113: by [deleted user] (new)

Jan, when Indy brings Eddie to buy condoms for Lee? Lol.

message 114: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) Hmm. I'v forgotten that bit, bev. Is it in the first book? Maybe 2017 will bring a reread of the whole series......

message 115: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I was thinking of re-reading the series (but I was going to skip the first one, lol) I also love Indy and Lee in the other books, but their get-together story just didn't grab me as much as the rest. But I do really enjoy reading about the entire Hot Bunch!! OohLaLa!!

I've never even heard of Tabula Rose! Must have been before my time around Maryse's blog??

Jan--if you like teacher/student books where the girl is younger, I think you'll like it. Well, he's her coach, but you know what I mean. I loved him because he was a sexy Russian, and I can't wait for the next one to come out!!

message 116: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) Sexy Russian? Check. Mature guy, younger woman? Check. Sports theme? Check. Sounds tempting ;)

message 117: by [deleted user] (new)

I know it is a tv show, but if you all like sports theme and potential romance then try the show Pitch. It is really good.

message 118: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Wait, what book is student/teacher with sexy Russian???

Balance by Lucia Franco right?

message 120: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) Yeah I checked out the sample but I'm not sure it's really my cup of tea now. There's a LOT of detail (at the start anyway) about gymnastics and I'm not sure I'm that into it. Plus, the h is VERY young (at the start, anyway.....) But, it made R's top 10 so that says a lot. There must be something in it!

message 121: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 38 comments Oooh...just bought Balance. It looks good. Really liking the best lists for new recommendations.

message 122: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments The taboo-ness of the age difference is right up my alley....The gymnastics details would bore me.

My best of 2016 list was posted on Maryse's blog last night. There are only 10 of them, so I just edited my written reviews of my 5 star GR reviews and it wasn't so hard that way. Hope you guys check it out LOL!

message 124: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 38 comments Great list Grey....adding comments to posts on Maryse's blog has been a bit hit or miss lately. Thanks for sharing.

message 125: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 38 comments Great recommendation for Balance by Lucia Franco! I floved it! It was taboo, erotic, and detailed about the sport. Can't wait for the next one.
