Introduce Yourself to the Group - 2017!

Can you recommend some books to read in October? Something magical, warm and sweet hoho Strange request isn't it?
Thank you and nice to meet you!

My name is Leah and I am from Oregon. I joined this group because I love to track my reading progress. I try to read daily because it is one of the constants in my life, reading is part of who I am and what keeps me grounded and happy. I feel like it would be easier to list what I don't read, than what I do.
Some of the most interesting books I have read were book club picks I may not have normally chosen for myself ( back when I was in a book club)
I had originally set my Goodreads 2017 challenge for the year at 30, but met it much quicker than I had anticipated ( last year I read 27) so have changed it to 50 for the year. Am currently reading Peaces for Monsieur Le Cure' by Joanne Harris and it is book #45 for me.

My Goal for this year is 15 books.

My name is Danielle, I'm (currently) 17 and I'm from Ohio!
I really do enjoy reading a large variety of books from mystery to romance but my all-time favorite is anything fantasy. Specifically epic fantasies. The Lord of the Rings is my all-time favorite and I've actually been meaning to read it again.
I found the group just because I was looking for a good book club to keep me on track with my reading goal. I tend to read really intensely for like a week and then not read again for a few weeks which isn't a good habit.
My reading goal for this year is 35 books. I've got 19 down but it's honestly not going very well so far so I hope we can help keep each other on track for a good reading year :)

- What kinds of books do you like to read? Historical fiction, adventure, fantasy
- How did you find our group? I have been on goodreads for some years, but never realy interacted with the community, so I searched for some groups and joined. This was the best option for the challenges.
- What's your reading goal? I reached my reading goal this year, but am going on just to see how far I can go.

It's been near a year i joined this group and i m very satisfaid :D
Well, I am Maria, 21 Yo, from Marrakesh, Morocco.
I graduated from HS in 2014 and gor my B.A last year in French didactics
My favorite books are novels and my challenge this year is to read 110 book :D

I don't really think I have a particular genre that is my favourite. I try to read a wide variety of books but recently I have been reading a lot of memoirs/biographies and non-fiction.
I'm a member of an IRL bookclub and I'm also participating in the Book Riot Read Harder Challenge as well as the POPSUGAR reading challenge for this year. My aim at the start of the year was to read 40 books but I have already passed that so may increase it to 60.
Happy reading!

I just saw this group on a friend's page and decided to check it out. Not to add my reading goals for this year - they're all over the place, really - but hopefully for those of 2018!
But first: I'm a 25 year old from Belgium. I've always loved reading fantasy and lately I've been expanding my horizons by trying out manga, sci-fi and a whoooole lot of contemporary and YA in general. I've also started my blog earlier this year, which made me even more passionate about reading - and I thought that wouldn't be possible, ha!
This year I first wanted to read 50 books. Then I came across the Popsugar Reading Challenge and I wanted to complete that one. By now, I still have three more prompts to go to do just that.
Apart from that I want to get my physical TBR down to 100 - Currently I'm at about 127? I think?
For next year, I've been brainstorming about my reading goals a lot already. It's going to be huge because I have a section for genres, the Popsugar Reading Challenge [I really enjoyed that one!] and other things. Since I like a place to keep track of it all, I thought I might do that here. :D
Looking forward to seeing everyone's reading goals!

my name is Souhaila and I'm from Germany (sry if my english is not the best). I found this group by browsing around Goodreads. Maybe I should learn a bit for the exams but books are so much more interesting!
I try to change the genres of the books I read but I can't help and read the most time fantasy or YA. But I also enjoy historical-fiction like The Book Thief and All The Light We Cannot See (big recommendation!)
My goal for this year is 50 books and I'm almost done! I try to raise my goal each year for 5 books so I don't put too much pressure. (Anyways I don't really care a lot if I reach my Reading Goals 'caouse if i have time to read than I read, if not than...)
This is my first group I join to. Hope we'll have a nice time here at fangirling and -boying :)

Happy to say that I've rediscovered it in the last 5 or so years and I am pretty much open to reading just about anything. I also have a 2 year old so I've also gotten to know a lot of kid books as well recently (and Thomas the train...always Thomas the train) :P
I'm looking forward to getting to know the group better and hoping to participate in some challenges.

no lo entiendo muy bien, pero mi objetivo es al menos leer cinco libros en lo que queda del año.

That sounds awful Beth, but we're so glad to have you and hopefully you don't have to go through that again. :)

Welcome Alice :) It took me a while to discover groups too. There's a lot going on here helping to catch up/read more. I read a lot more after I joined here :) Good luck and don't hesitate to ask if you need some help navigate the page :)

I am from Austin Tx and am hoping to increase the amount and variety of books I read. I am an avid audiobook listener and tend to focus on “brain candy”, like Janet evanovich...want to get more into reading. I am a mother of 2 with a very busy work schedule, but wanted to give it a try.
I already went to the library and picked out a book for the first prompt, read a book that is from a movie you have seen. (Miss Peregrine’s home for Peculiar children). My daughter is reading it, so I thought it might be fun to join her
Looking forward to being in the group! Sincerely, jen

My toughts: If you can find them listed on goodreads count them 😊 they usually suck out all the energy in me. Might as well make them count.😄

I enjoy romance, horror, sci fi, poetry, literature, historic, comedy... like tons.
My goal is 20 books, only because I set it around a month ago. I've read 11 and I've got 9 to go, so I'm doing well!

I started out with a goal of 50 books this year, but I changed it to 75 and I've passed that already. Adding audio to my "reading" has increased my ability to get to books I want to read.

I like to read a wide variety of genres, especially books which tackle dark and difficult subjects or about odd people on the fringes of society, I also love a good immersive historical fiction, spooky stories, and the occasional biography.
This year my challenge is to read 50 books, I am currently on track at 40. I have been trying to alternate between male and female authors as I go and have just finished the Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson.
I have joined this group as I would love to have more friends and activity on GR, as well as gaining a few recommendations, anyone is welcome to friend me/chat about books with me whether you have similar tastes or differing :)
Thanks for reading!
