0/10!! I will try :)

I've now read 3/8 of my pledged books for this challenge. Thanks for updating when you get around to it next. :-)
(I also learnt that I love the idea of the challenge but need to do it differently next year. I suspect not having a full list to start but to randomise each time anew, as some here do, might work better for me, too.)

I have mixed feelings. I gave it two stars, because I found it kind of a slog.
The chaotic mix of multiple plot threads, the din of the "noisy" plot thread (if you read it, you'll know what I mean by that - I experienced it as the written equivalent of AM radio, an experience which I expect Brunner intended), characters which, although not lacking in depth and nuance, were not terribly likable (there was one exception) and the obscurity of the central story thread, made it a discordant and uncomfortable read - for me.
As I said, I found it to be a slog and was glad to be done with it.
That said, I totally get why many love the book. It is a brilliant piece of writing, it is creative, original, challenging and likely prescient for its time. Most of the writing I have read concerning it would disagree with me, so of course your mileage may vary.
It just didn't work for me.

A Share in Death, by Deborah Crombie
Next on the list is The Curse of Chalion, by Lois McMaster Bujold, which will complete the challenge for me!
EDIT: Book #6 is now Before the Fall, by Noah Hawley (I goofed, ran the randomizer again, purchased the book and so now I'm committed to it!)

we will see then how I like it when I get to it finally :)
