Wonderful! Thanks. I should probably do the same!

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments It helps me find them easier when I want a certain category. It isn't perfect but I'm still working on it.

Then there are Zombies and Werewolves to be read about & even shape shifters. And Robin Helm did a series in which Darcy is a guardian angel to Elizabeth...that was interesting as to how romance became introduced. Can/do angels fall in love?

I've been hesitant to read the Helm variation. I wasn't sure I could suspend that much but who knows. I'm on a roll now! Thanks Sheila!

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1301 comments I enjoyed that series but know that it does have some religious overtones. She is not "preachy" in her books but you will know of her faith.

Lenora Robinson | 174 comments 66 Hurst Knows All very short but funny

67 The Darcy Bennet Arrangement: A Pride and Prejudice Regency Variation very good very funny when darcy realizes that there is a compromise waiting at every turn

message 559: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments Lenora, you are moving right along. I saw that you had the Hurst Knows All short and I had wondered about it. Glad to see it was a cute story and that you liked it. I just may have to try it. I have the Mr. Darcy Loves Elizabeth Bennet collection and hope to get to it. At lease you thought it was OK. Sometimes with collections... that is the best you can do.

You are too kind. I'm just reading to escape from my crazy life. That and I thoroughly enjoy it! I also love seeing what others are reading.

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments I know... my TBR pile blew up as soon as I started seeing what others were reading. Dang!!! That is the downside to being a member of GR. However, I wouldn't have it any other way. I've met the most amazing people, read the most amazing books, had the most... you know... conversations and had the most ... I am getting sick of say that word... Fun EVER!!!

I agree. I'm on here now more than facebook. Conversations over books is more satisfying. Plus getting to talk to others that read the same stuff is amazing!

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments It is... you know.

message 566: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1301 comments Jeanne, I finished Longbourn: Dragon Entail: A Pride and Prejudice Variation and I hate to say it but it ends abruptly without marriage...yet and with other matters not settled. So if you want to wait until you have the entire series in your hands...then do so. I was fooled by what Amazon had stated but I do remember in comments on the WIP that someone mentioned a third book....Argh!

message 567: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments Will do... thanks for the warning. I can wait. I hate having an abrupt ending... so I will patiently wait. I have the others safely secure in my TBR pile. Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it.

No problem...that's what we do in this community as we discuss and recommend or don't recommend books to each other.

message 570: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments Jeanne,it's been a year since you were befriended on Amazon, invited to join this motley crew and added spice, laughter and indeed hilarity to the various conversations we've all participated in!

Forgive me,but I feel I must ask if my invitation to the party to mark your first anniversary has gone astray? I know I'm on the list,I mean I must be,mustn't I?

The postal services around my neck of the woods do have their moments, but still I find myself anxiously awaiting a heavily embossed postcard/letter with all the details, yet each morning I'm left wondering.......!!
So,my dear, when, where, what time are the festivities set to begin?? What would you like us to bring? Are we to come dressed in our Regency finery or is it a black tie event???

message 571: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments Sheila-congrats on having read such an impressive number of books!!! I trust Mr Bennet's library is to your liking???

message 572: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1301 comments Thanks You. Yes, I am familiar with this room and all its comforts. Looking forward to more friends joining me sooner or later...all ready to welcome them here.

message 573: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments Sheila, you're certainly no stranger to our dear Mr Bennet's library!!! And what more could we ask for but a friendly face,a comfy armchair and a varied selection of books!! Oh,joy!!

message 574: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments OMG! Mary... I have an anniversary??? Wow!! It seems I overlooked, forgot, missed and otherwise neglected to note that May was the month when I joined. Your greeting was enough to make me smile and I just want to say thank you for remembering. And... thanks to Sheila for introducing me to GR. I had no idea how much fun I was missing. Cheers!

Also, for those that enjoy horse racing... the KY Derby is this Saturday. Many authors come to KY for the race. So get out your Derby hat and enjoy a mint julep [famous Derby drink utilizing KY bourbon].

message 575: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1301 comments Oh, how I wish I were there...not for horse racing although my husband did visit the derby while on business many years ago and brought back T-shirts.

I've started reading more modern versions and they have been delightful. Its nice to mix it up! Any recommendations are welcome. I'm counting down till Abigail Reynolds book is released this month. And the Darcy Monologues!

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1301 comments Oh, I am also looking forward to Abigail's book. Yes, there are some excellent modern variations out there. Congratulations on your progress.

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments Lenora, you can now wave goodbye to Emma Woodhouse as you are leaving her level. Captain Harville has reservations in the reading room on his level. With your next reading choice, a welcome celebration awaits your arrival.

Sara | 328 comments 218) Practical Engagements: A Fitzwilliam Darcy Story this was tough, very depressing. not enough joy on the pages meaning more description of the sad times than the happy.
219) First Impressions: A Tale of Less Pride & Prejudice Sweet fun read
220) The Ashes of Longbourn 4 stars (very sweet romance if you ask me)
221) Undeceived: Pride & Prejudice in the Spy Game 4.5 stars
222) The Best Part of Love 5 stars This was good, but man, it was a bit tough to read due to all the angst!!

message 599: by Sara (new)

Sara | 328 comments It's on my list. I need to read my library loan Eligible first then, I'm reading Abigal Reynolds new book because I cannot wait. Or maybe i should read this in-between. So, exciting. So many books and so little time. Sigh.

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments Sara, you can read this one so quickly and in one setting. I sandwiched it between two others that I am reading at the same time.
