The Infernal Devices TV Show? Thoughts?

I think TID should definitely be turned into movies, but a TV show? No. Just look at Pretty Little Liars or The Vampire Diaries. They may be good shows, but if you read the books, they are so different you can barely associate the two with each other. I would die if TID were turned into a TV show and the plot was lost. If The Infernal Devices series is turned into a television show, I am worried that the writers would change the plot and it would ruin the books.

Call me selfish or anything you like but I don't want a TID tv show or film. I love it that it's so beautiful, intense, detailed and emotional as the book. I would love to save the three of them as they way I imagined them to be. Fictional but more real. I don't want to see some actors and think of them as my trio. There're things that can't be explained/expressed on screen as in books.

I would like a TMI TV show tho.

Only if they cast me as Tessa :P

TID is better this way. they will shit on it if they made something like a tv show with it.

i will say no.

no doubt that GoT is great as a tv series, it is a special case seeing there are tons of books in the Game of Throne series. TID has three, that's too short hence there's a big possibility for the script writer to actually change the plot line so they can fit it into more season, and then hello TVD, that show - sorry if there's fans looking at this here - sucks. so no, I don't like that.

I really rather those money-suckers movie-makers leave this series out of it, not like I don't want to take the chance, I would love to see it comes to life, but let's face it, strip off the emotions we read between the lines in the books, TID doesn't offer much plotline apart from the few battles with demons and the clockwork creatures. on screen it will fall flat, and hence greater chance for the script writer to change things up, maybe play along the triangle love, or add in more demons and things we don't see in the books...

those are my fear and speculation. anyway, I hope I don't see the show now, they will never find the perfect cast who will fit Will, Jem, Tessa and all the other characters in our minds.

hmmm...maybe it would be good for those who want to see more of what the characters did in between those events that unfolded in the books, but that is if they could find people who could write decent fillers.

I think that it will be better if they turned the books in to movies.

I think it would be very interesting... As long as Will Herondale is what I imagine him to look like. But as for the plot, I would rather they stuck very true to the plot, even if it was a short TV show. Seeing it come to life would be pretty cool!

The only way a TID adaptation could be a good TV show if they change pretty much everything about it. Otherwise it would be a TV Show much worse than Twilight or a Shyamalan movie. TID is just as stereotpyical, racist, sexist, full of hollow lip service and screwed up morals as TMI.
