I admit that reluctance to dwell on the past is a issue as I attempt to get to the bottom of the story
GL is an extremely elegant lady. Her buoyant laughter is her most attractive attribute, in my opinion.
Blimey, 3,000 plus on the blog. Here is is if anyone's interested. ;-)It's writing advice: http://mtmcguire.co.uk/2017/03/05/fri...

Hi M.T. and cheers, great blogpost, thanks - same problems here.
I'd just say that this one alone: "I also tried switching off the computer at six pm and not turning it on again until the next morning". >>> if at least twice weekly works miracles
It took a while to get past my initial misreading of Three hours of quality time are worth many more hours of half cock time
845 words today.I was tempted to stop at 666 when I finished a scene, but thought it was probably wise not to.
Don't say 'just'! Tallis' outpourings are a valuable contribution to the literature of the age (he told me).
I somehow managed about 4,000 words over the weekend. I'm within sight of writing "The End" on a cyberpunk novella thing.
Blimey well done Andrew, David and Jim.I think I've managed about 600 today in two sprints, with McMini home from school ill. ;-) So I'm happy with that. Have to go eat lunch now. Might even get another one in this afternoon. Depends how we are set.
Cheers

Jim wrote: "You hadn't just filled his glass at the time?"Perhaps that was it. Before I filled his glass he told me that my outpourings were a valuable contribution to the literature of the age.
Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) wrote: "This thread is always full of useful tips"just very few about writing ;-)
Lexie wrote: "Only when you lick it off the carpet."Poets usually carry a purloined straw, just in case
But you have to be prepared for the careless actions of others! At last, done my word quota for the day - it's been like pulling teeth. 4/5 of the book done.
Jim wrote: "I would suggest that anybody who spills wine onto the carpet barely warrants being called a poet!"However hot the fires of poetic creativity burn in you, it won't stop some clumsy lout from bumping into you.
Tis sadly true, it's only when the offender is decorously nailed upside down to a church door that the others eventually learn some sort of good manners
Or feeding the scavenger birds. There will be a flock of buzzards moving in pretty smartish if that happens regularly.
