Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Patti (baconater) wrote: "Is 'known to GL'?"

I know some very respectable people.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Do they admit to knowing you?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Patti (baconater) wrote: "Do they admit to knowing you?"

Reluctantly.

Jim | 21809 comments I admit that reluctance to dwell on the past is a issue as I attempt to get to the bottom of the story

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Or the story of the bottom?

Jim | 21809 comments a rather slim and elegant lady I would have thought

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Jim wrote: "a rather slim and elegant lady I would have thought"

True. I'm just jealous.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments GL is an extremely elegant lady.

Her buoyant laughter is her most attractive attribute, in my opinion.

Hi M.T. and cheers, great blogpost, thanks - same problems here.

I'd just say that this one alone: "I also tried switching off the computer at six pm and not turning it on again until the next morning". >>> if at least twice weekly works miracles

message 669: by David (new)

David Hadley 845 words today.

I was tempted to stop at 666 when I finished a scene, but thought it was probably wise not to.

message 670: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments 3000 words last night and this morning but it's just a tale from Tallis

message 671: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments Don't say 'just'! Tallis' outpourings are a valuable contribution to the literature of the age (he told me).

Jim | 21809 comments You hadn't just filled his glass at the time?

message 673: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 1774 comments I somehow managed about 4,000 words over the weekend. I'm within sight of writing "The End" on a cyberpunk novella thing.

message 674: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Blimey well done Andrew, David and Jim.

I think I've managed about 600 today in two sprints, with McMini home from school ill. ;-) So I'm happy with that. Have to go eat lunch now. Might even get another one in this afternoon. Depends how we are set.

Cheers

MTM

Perhaps that was it. Before I filled his glass he told me that my outpourings were a valuable contribution to the literature of the age.

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Vino and carpets should not go together. (It makes the merlot hairy)

Poets usually carry a purloined straw, just in case

message 686: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments Especially well-prepared ones wrap a little filter round the end of it, to keep out the fluff.

message 688: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments I would suggest that anybody who spills wine onto the carpet barely warrants being called a poet!

message 689: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments But you have to be prepared for the careless actions of others!

At last, done my word quota for the day - it's been like pulling teeth. 4/5 of the book done.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Jim wrote: "I would suggest that anybody who spills wine onto the carpet barely warrants being called a poet!"

However hot the fires of poetic creativity burn in you, it won't stop some clumsy lout from bumping into you.

message 691: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments Tis sadly true, it's only when the offender is decorously nailed upside down to a church door that the others eventually learn some sort of good manners

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments You are very fond of nailing people to church doors. Does it work?

message 693: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments It seems a very crude form of waterproofing to me

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Or feeding the scavenger birds. There will be a flock of buzzards moving in pretty smartish if that happens regularly.

Well, apart from Sandi Toksvig . . . ;)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments What door had she been previously nailed to?

message 699: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments Quite a small one.

message 700: by David (new)

David Hadley From the photos, it looks like Robby Krieger was the shortest of The Doors.

Surprisingly though Google says nothing about the best method for nailing a small Danish woman to him, upside down or otherwise. Or - more importantly - if it would hinder his guitar playing ability or not.

1045 words today.
