And for something completely different, I checked out from the library Darynda Jones' Sixth Grave on the Edge. I love this series. :)

What a cool experience! Books are so powerful because we all relate to them in different ways. There's nothing quite like reading a book and feeling a deeper connection to your own life and experiences.

For "real" books, I have a few pages of The Secret Life of Bees (Sue Monk Kidd) left and can't wait to see how it wraps up. Next up is Someday, Someday Maybe by Lauren Graham. I'm hoping she makes as great of an author as an actress on Gilmore Girls!

Fun that you are just joining!

I'm the same way, Kyra. I just keep track in a spreadsheet, and on some rainy day, I'll sit down and put them all into the actual 52 Book Log.

Welcome to the challenge, Kelsey! It's great to see people just getting into the challenge now!

I log mine in all at once at the end of the week. At the end of the week just before I go to the Library and return my finished books.
This week I am reading several blind selections. (just walked into the Library and randomly picked up 15 books without really looking at the titles or descriptions)
The Hidden Girl, Nil, Illusion, Shadow People, to name a few, as well as The One, Red Rising and Joyland which were on hold for me start out my week, there are a few others that I can not recall at the moment.

I can't wait to see it! I'm glad to hear they stayed true to the story.

I listen to a lot too! It makes driving in Hampton Roads traffic a little more tolerable.
Thank you everyone, for the warm welcome! I'm excited be a part of a little book-loving community.

What a fun idea to have blind selections! I saw an idea somewhere online where a library had a "blind date with a book" program for Valentine's Day. They covered several books with pink/red paper, decorated them, and only put minor hints as to the subject matter. It looked like a fun way to break out of your normal book picks!

We've done that at CPL for the past couple of years, too! It's always fun to wrap the books and make the display, but I have yet to actually take a book out on a blind date. Maybe next Valentine's will be the one!

I'm pretty excited to read it; it's usually touted as his best book. It's so long, though. I know it will take me a good chunk of time to get through.
June will be here in a few days, and the challenge will be to read an action book, adventure novel or thriller. I will put a suggestion thread in a couple of days.
Last week was a productive reading week for me. I read Stephen King's Rage. I never knew he'd written a novel about a school shooting. Then I started the next book in the chronology, Night Shift, which is a collection of short stories.
I also started and finished B.J. Novak's short stories One More Thing. It was one of the best collections of short stories I've ever read. I highly recommend it.
Due to rave reviews of Laini Taylor's Daughter of Smoke and Bone, I picked that one up next. It was a quick read, and now I'm anxiously awaiting the next one to become available to check out.
This week I plan to finish Night Shift and to start The Stand. I'm also hoping the next book in The Daughter of Smoke and Bone series comes in.
What is everyone reading this week?
