♞ Pat Gent | 41 comments Hi Matt! You've got a really nice line up of books on your shelf!

A Time to Kill by John Grisham and All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
were both 5☆ reads for me, so maybe one of them will suit you?

And if not, you might try Cheney The Untold Story of America's Most Powerful and Controversial Vice President by Stephen F. Hayes
I'm not usually political, but this guy certainly changed the way things worked in our government. Love him or hate him, he was a powerful figure, so this book might be really good...

Matt Mullins | 139 comments Thanks Pat!

I'm going to go with All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

I put the audio version of The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper on hold just now. If it doesn't show up within the next few days, I'll grab one of the other two titles at the library. Thanks, Pat!

Thanks for my LOST list, Pat :)

I'm going to go with Fire (Graceling Realm #2) because I've had it from the library for 6 weeks (renewed twice!) so thanks for the push, I really need to get to it lol

Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel ~ I loved this one too.

Hope one of them makes you happy this round. Enjoy your reading. :-)

Thanks Pat, boy that's a tough choice! I've reserved The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks at the library so I'll go with that if it becomes available in time - if not I have Homegoing to hand. A win either way!

Hey ❀Tea❀~ Long time no see! How's it going? How you doing? What you reading? Oh, I gotta tell you that part~

What about

Friction by Sandra Brown ~ I kind of like reading a good Sandra Brown novel, but I've not done this one. Let me know if you pick it what you think.

The Yard (Scotland Yard's Murder Squad, #1) by Alex Grecian ~ I DID like this one. A lot. Maybe you will too.

The Lightning-Struck Heart (Tales From Verania, #1) by T.J. Klune ~ GR readers say, "this one." So maybe they're right about that.

Let me know how it went! Enjoy your pick~!

Hey Gillian~ I'm so glad you enjoyed your last pick. I hope I get you something good again this time. Let's see....

Ok...

I'm in the middle of The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead and it is SO good. You gotta read it. Seriously.

Black Like Me by John Howard Griffin I read this one in high school and it was FABULOUS. Definitely a classic. The story is still part of my thinking framework. So good. Really really good.

And ok. So this one just looks like fun The Secret Keepers by Trenton Lee Stewart because who hasn't ever struggled with morality vs fame?

Hope you find a new favorite in this little stack. :-) Enjoy your book!

message 75: by Gillian (new)

Gillian | 151 comments Thanks Pat!

Another tough choice but I'm going to go with The Secret Keepers this time round since I already have it out the library.

I really want to read your other picks as well after your glowing recommendations!

Thanks so much and I'm sure I'll be back visiting soon :)

https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

message 78: by ♞ Pat (new)

♞ Pat Gent | 41 comments Hi Dee! Welcome to the antics of the world's cutest pair of siblings.

Here's what I think you should maybe consider reading next ...

Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly ~ I read this and thought it was great. I always try to recommend one that I've read myself, and this is the only one on your shelf, so it's a no brainer, but it really IS good.

Be Mine in Good Hope (Good Hope, #3) by Cindy Kirk ~ I also always try to recommend something that the GR community says is good. This one is the highest rated book on your shelf, so it's an obvious selection.

The Love Goddess' Cooking School by Melissa Senate ~ And finally, I try to recommend something that either I have on my own TBR or that just looks intriguing enough to me to put it there. This one is one I've been wanting to read for a while.

I hope one of these appeals to you!

message 79: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments thanks Pat! I think I'll go with the Cindy kirk one since its on my kindle right now - but Lilac Girls is very high on the choice list too! :)

message 81: by ♞ Pat (new)

♞ Pat Gent | 41 comments Hi Coralie!

Here's what I found on your shelves that look like they might be fun.

The Beggar Maid by Alice Munro ~ I've read this one and enjoyed it.

Locke & Key, Vol. 5 Clockworks by Joe Hill ~ GR readers selected this one!

This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen by Tadeusz Borowski ~ I've added this one to my own TBR, so thanks for that!

I think I'd better make the choices, Angela, since your request has been waiting for almost two days. Here you go:

I found two books on your list that I gave 4 stars, so they're first:
In One Person
In the Woods
Then, to choose one of your non-fiction books, I decided to stay with the "In" theme, and go for:
Inside Syria

Hope there's something here that you'll enjoy!

No problem. We know these things happen. That's why Tien set things up this way, so everyone would have backup. And I enjoy the excuse to browse people's TBR shelves. They're all so different. It's my favorite thing about this game.

message 88: by Katie (last edited May 26, 2017 07:50AM) (new)

Katie Yay, internet! It is TOUGH without it, isn't it?!

I'm going to go with White Hot because you can't lose with Ilona Andrews. :P

♞ Pat Gent | 41 comments Hi Joyce.

Let's see how you feel about these...

I'm having some deja vu. Didn't I do this already? Or did you land on my other space ... I know I've done this list in the past couple of days...

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter, #6) by J.K. Rowling

C is for Corpse (Kinsey Millhone, #3) by Sue Grafton

The Last Dragonslayer (The Chronicles of Kazam, #1) by Jasper Fforde

Maybe my wonky internet didn't feed it through ... maybe. Or maybe I've been in a time warp and went to the future and did it there. Weird. I know I've done this once this past weekend....
