message 834: by Megan (new)

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #42 (2016 bestseller) - Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult. This book was well-written and timely. The characters were interesting (and diabolical in some instances) and felt authentic. I applaud the author's efforts to portray a decent public defender, since the vast majority of us are hardworking and dedicated to our jobs. However, at times, I felt the author was dipping into stereotypes in public defenders in an effort to stay "on message" with her narrative. There were also some legal inaccuracies. Overall, I appreciated the book and am excited to discuss it in my bookclub! Definitely worth reading! 4 stars
