30.4 - Mazza1's Task - Readers Recommend

I’m sorry, I must have claimed the wrong edition for Zout van de zee. I read the hardcover edition and that one counts 412 pages. In this repost I added the right link.

I chose the 2 book option.

Option 1: Read a book with an average GR rating above 4.24 (that is, at least 4.25).

The Siege of Macindaw by John Flanagan. GR rating is 4.33 at the time of this post.
328 pages.

Option 2: Read a book that features as a winner or nominee on the Goodreads Choice Awards for 2016.

Zout van de zee (Dutch version of Salt to the Sea) by Ruta Sepetys. Nominated (and winner) in the category Young Adult Fiction.
412 pages.

If you choose the 2 book option, the 2 books must be selected from different options and the two books must have a combined page total of at least 600.
328 + 412 = 740 pages.

I love Christmas movies and one of my all time favourites is Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Inspired by Jack Skellington, the task is as follows:

Choose one of the following options. REQUIRED: State in your post the option that you chose.

I chose option 2, as below:
Option 2. Read a book by an author called Jack or who has a name related to Jack. You can check this list at Behind the Name - Jack
I read The Children Act by Ian McEwan. According to the link in the task, Ian is an English relation to Jack.
