Now that our read for December 2016 has been decided, it's time for everyone to nominate a book for our January 2017 read.

We are doing something a little different for 2017 monthly reads. Starting with January's read we will work our way backward in publication years :)

So - nominate a crime/mystery/thriller/suspense book which was published in 2016. True crime or cosy mysteries are included in this :)

This thread will be open until 10th December, then our nominations will go to the vote:) Good luck and have fun!

Authors and publishers, please don't nominate your own work!

MaryG2E (goodreadscommaryg2e) I'm keen to read Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty, which was published earlier this year.

Mary that one is marked as Women's Fiction/Chick Lit and Contemporary, so I don't think it fits here. I haven't read it so don't know if there's any mystery/crime involved but no one has shelved it as such...

Sorry Brenda, I don't know why but I assumed it was a murder mystery. Definitely not one for the Aussie Lovers of Crime challenge then!

No I don't think so Mary :) Much as we'd like to read it!

I reckon it's the word "guilty", Mary. I haven't read Truly Madly Guilty either, but the blurb and some reviews certainly talk about a mystery of how or why something happened.

Some people have shelved it as a mystery, but it doesn't sound as if there's any crime involved, so we'll have to fit it into some other challenge - darn!

Carolyn | 2078 comments I'd like to nominate The Falls by Aussie author B. Michael Radburn.

I just finished The Crossing by this author and it was really good. Although The Falls is the second book featuring park ranger Taylor Bridges, I don't think you'd need to read the first book as it's a completely new story in a new location.

I like the sound of these, just downloaded The Crossing, and will read before January, so that I can be ready for The Falls if that gets picked (reading books out of order makes me anxious! lol)
