A book told in multiple perspectives

message 2: by Kris (new)

Kris (kriswood) | 8 comments I've been meaning to read Wonder, so here's a reason to. :)

message 3: by Theresa (new)

Theresa Forgive me if this is a silly question but I want to go into this book knowing as little as possible so I'm avoiding as much info about it as possible. Is A Little Life told from multiple perspectives? Thanks!

message 4: by Jen (new)

Jen (bloomingjen) Teresa- yes

Chessa (chessakat) | 11 comments Just off the top of my head, two that would work are Carry On and Missing, Presumed.

Or maybe I'm misunderstanding the prompt - is it basically just more than one narrator? Not sure if I'm over or under-thinking this one. :P

Margot (goodreadscommerelybookish) | 9 comments A Visit from the Good Squad by Jennifer Egan.

Laura | 33 comments Going with A Rule Against Murder for multiple perspective. I just love Louise Penny's books, and I am slowly working my way through the series.

Claudia (brooklyn-reads) One of the three narrators of Delicious Foods by James Hannaham is Scotty, a character's crack addiction. This is an intense, dark, and powerful piece of literary fiction.

Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan
The Cherry Harvest by Lucy Sanna
Fingersmith by Sarah Waters
Almost anything by Susanna Kearsley
Good Omens by Terry Pratchett"

Thanks for the suggestions Susan! I might try Fingersmith and maybe even take my first try at Susanna Kearsley!

The suggestion of that author got me thinking of Kristina McMorris. She's great and all of her books are told in multiple perspectives/storylines too.

The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman definitely came to mind too!

Katie | 1 comments Homegoing works for this, yes? I was planning on reading it next year anyway!

OOohh, yay!

message 13: by Kristopher (new)

Kristopher Underwood (mrcoachu) I feel like I am cheating on this one but it was too perfect to pass up. I am currently reading The Muralist by B.A. Shapiro and loving it. I will use it to meet this part of the challenge.

Erin (erinkharv) | 5 comments Would The Raven Boys work for this one? This and the horror prompt are the two left that I haven't decided on yet.

message 15: by Anna (new)

Anna Lise (annams5) | 1 comments Could a collection of essays work? I am trying to fit in Jesmyn Ward's The Fire This Time.

message 16: by V (new)

V (thefoxtale) | 3 comments The Raven Cycle would work, as would The Lunar Chronicles, if you love the fantasy genre.

This afternoon, Meg Cabot's most recent novel, The Boy is Back caught my attention at the library, and I thought it would be a great way to spend a cold, rainy afternoon... And I was right! I haven't read any other Meg Cabot, much less the previous three books in this series; but it didn't seem to matter; and it has been a long time since a book made me laugh out loud and often! The story is about a guy named Reed who had a drunk golf cart incident during his prom, and hasn't been back home in ten years. Now, however, his parents seem to have crossed that line from eccentricity into being hoarders and cat enthusiasts, and he needs to come back, and not only deal with his family, but his high school sweetheart. This is a light-hearted romance told through texts, e-mails, FaceBook posts, etc.; and from different POVs. Highly recommend as a fun, funny, and quick read :-)

Amy (azulaco) | 11 comments Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff would also work for this task. I'm thinking about using The Good Girl by Mary Kubica. I read a sample on Kindle and loved it.

message 19: by Barbara (The Bibliophage) (last edited Jan 15, 2017 05:18PM) (new)

Barbara (The Bibliophage) (barbarathebibliophage) I just figured out that my current read (an ARC), The Patriots by Sana Krasikov will work for this, and immigration, and over 400 pages, and based on a historical event. Squee! I wasn't going to double up, but I can't resist!

message 20: by Gemma (new)

Gemma (midgetgem) | 5 comments I just finished Disclaimer, which tells the story from two points of view. I found the characters unlikeable but the overall story was great, so I would recommend if you enjoy a psychological thriller.

message 21: by Martha (new)

Martha (marthag503) Lucky Boy works for this category.

message 22: by Deborah (new)

Deborah | 15 comments Just finished Behind Her Eyes for this challenge. Highly recommended if you enjoy thrillers xx

message 23: by Colleen (new)

Colleen (cocoreads70) I used All The Ugly and Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood for this one

message 24: by Claire (new)

Claire (cjeskriett) I've recently read This Must Be the Place for this one. I love Maggie O'Farrell, although this is not my favourite of hers (but is still great)

message 25: by Alexis (new)

Alexis (kheleyr) Could Jesmyn Ward's The Fire This Time: A New Generation Speaks about Race work? It is a collection of essays. Thanks!

message 27: by Brooke (new)

Brooke Like Colleen, I'm reading All the Ugly and Wonderful Things for this one.

Other books I've recently read that will work:
The Good Girl
The Winter People
The Mothers
The Couple Next Door
