Perfect! Thank you, Rusalka!

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4027 comments Thank you, everyone for your help with the time travel. I really appreciate it. At times, I feel I gave the silliest answers and made my challenge difficult, lol.

Thanks so much, Janice. That's helpful.

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Lol, I think we all had those moments Pragya ;-)

message 654: by Tejas Janet (new)

Tejas Janet (tejasjanet) | 3513 comments I agree! On some of questions I have wondered why I answered as I did. Not that my answers were false. Just that I realized better answers further along :D

Exactly. Or they were the right answer on the day. Like I had a craving for something that day, or had watched something that made me think that would be cool. And then on reflection, maybe it wasn't quite right.

But it was a good snapshot of me on the 20somethingth of November 2016.

Kristie | 19148 comments Oh gosh...you just made me realize that our 2018 challenge will be out soon! I can’t believe we’re heading into the holiday season already.

Janice (jamasc) | 59897 comments Kristie wrote: "Oh gosh...you just made me realize that our 2018 challenge will be out soon! I can’t believe we’re heading into the holiday season already."

Argh! It's mostly fleshed out. I just need to start assigning tasks.

message 658: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19148 comments You still have some time!

message 659: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Heaps of time!

message 660: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I'm sooo curious!!!

But no pressure ;-)

message 661: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59897 comments Roughly two weeks of time, right?

I should start the annual teaser... let's see. We're going to let the sunshine in for 2018.

message 662: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Oh! Let me think about that!

Something with the seasons maybe?

message 663: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59897 comments Hmmm.... I hadn't thought of it like that, but it's possible.

message 664: by Lilisa (new)

Lilisa | 2770 comments Uuuhhhh - waiting in anticipation for the 2018 year-long challenge reveal - something about "feel good sunshiny" stuff to celebrate kicking 2017 away???

message 665: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59897 comments Oh yeah... here's a twist. During the last toppler, people loved the superhero theme and wanted an annual challenge based on it. I did find a way to give superheroes, or some of them anyway, their own category. That was a major challenge on my part. Some of them are a real stretch. I suspect assigning tasks to them won't be all that easy. Maybe I should make them real tough. They are, after all, superheroes. It should be harder than the normal.

So we have:

Let the sunshine in
Superheroes with their own category.

Bwahahahahahaha!

message 666: by Lisa (last edited Nov 12, 2017 08:21AM) (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments This is probably a far-fetched guess, but I'm wondering if it could be something to do with the summer movie season for 2018? Read books that link in with the movies that are scheduled to released. A lot of the big blockbusters released during the summer are superhero movies. That could account for "letting the sunshine in" and superheroes getting their own category.

message 667: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59897 comments It's kind of logical, Lisa. But... far-fetched. Or maybe it's not far-fetched enough.

message 670: by Kristie, Moderator (last edited Nov 12, 2017 07:59AM) (new)

Kristie | 19148 comments Oh, Lisa, I like that! Even if it's not Janice's idea, it's really good. **Puts toppler hat on.** lol

Great thinking Lisa, that makes a lot of sense!

Lol! Glad to be of service.

message 673: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4027 comments Ooh yes I was wondering last year this time, we were all answering the survey but then I thought maybe next year around we don't need as much prior preparation so the teaser will come a bit late. But eagerly awaiting!

Haha so true, Peggy, TJ and Rusalka. But glad we made it despite silly answers. :p

message 675: by Trudy (new)

Trudy (trudyan) | 1779 comments Janice, your obscure teasers aren’t giving me any clues yet. But your first teaser did put the “Let the Sunshine In” earworm in my head. Hm, maybe something to do with song lyrics? Or the 60s? Too narrow.

message 676: by Lori Z (new)

Lori Z | 2086 comments My first thought was song lyrics too, but then she threw in the superheroes thing and now I have no idea. Going to give up guessing and just wait for gopher time.

message 677: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11629 comments Oh Janice, you're evil!

Let the sunshine in suggests a bit of spring cleaning to me. Maybe a clean out of the TBR by category? On is that just something I should do ;-p

message 678: by Janice, Moderator (last edited Nov 12, 2017 05:12PM) (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59897 comments Yes, obscure teasers... but it just shows how twisted things can get.

And Sherlock Holmes says, "Elemental my dear Watson."

Speaking of earworms. All quilt retreat I've been singing,
"Fly me to the moon
And let me play among the stars..."

message 679: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11629 comments Sunshine, superheros, elemental, moon, stars.

This is going round and round in my poor brain - *grrrr* it's going to be a long two weeks 😵

message 680: by siriusedward (new)

siriusedward (elenaraphael) | 887 comments superheroes with elemental powers?

message 681: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments I'm walking on sunshine, woah aha aha
And it's time to feel good!

Superheroes can walk on sunshine, right?

message 682: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59897 comments Superheroes have a category, so that's not the overall theme.

message 683: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I'm thinking Lisa might be right about movie themes. Superheroes have movies. Sherlock Holmes has movies. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a movie. So is Little Miss Sunshine. And there are movies about flying to the moon too.

Or perhaps it's more like a solar system challenge. Sun, moon, stars.. not sure about superheroes and sherlock then..

Are the two weeks over yet?

message 684: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19148 comments I’m terrible with guessing these. I like Lisa’s guess too and I can’t wait 2 weeks now!!

message 690: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I do not know why I did not do it before, Pragya, but I was thinking about the book that Rusalka mentioned and put 2030 in the search bar. Here is the link for all of the books and authors that came up. I just thought you might be interested.

message 695: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59897 comments Okay - what does Jodie Foster have in common with Snakes?

message 696: by Kristie, Moderator (last edited Nov 20, 2017 08:02PM) (new)

Kristie | 19148 comments The only thing I could find is that Jodie Foster has a fear of snakes.

Ok... I thought this was a different thread and that was a legit question. lol You were giving a hint. Oops.

message 697: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11629 comments I'm going to say holiday destinations -
- Flights : foster stared in Flight Plan, Snakes on a Plane was a film.
- Clue on another thread related to Greece.
- Fly me to the moon. Maybe a category on of-world destination real or fictional e.g. Moon, Mars, Krypton, Vulan.
