We've had a lot of interest shown by authors and publishers in the following group activities and have decided to make them a regular feature in HA.
Author Participation Reads: These are month long events where the book will be one of our group reads and the author participates in them. The author is available to answer questions and will be subject to comments both good and bad from HA members. These can be done with or without complimentary copies given to members.
HA's responsibilities:
An announcement will be made, (via a broadcast message to all 12,000+ HA members), a thread will be opened for the discussion.
Author's/Publisher's responsibilities: To provide the complimentary copies as promised. To participate in the discussion over the month long period. To respond to HA member's comments in a respectful way.
Sponsored Group Listens: These are also month long events where the book will be one of our monthly group listens. HA members are provided FREE AUDIBLE CODES with the request of providing an honest review to the author.
HA's responsibilities: A thread will be opened, our members emailed via broadcast message.
Author's/Publisher's responsibilities: The author/publisher will be responsible for providing the codes as promised. To treat the comments of HA members with respect. Author/Publisher may or may not participate in the group listen, as they wish.
Important Notes for members/authors/publishers:
HA cannot guarantee that our members will follow through with reviews as promised. We will strongly urge them to do so and we'll ask them to come back to the threads and post a link to their honest review. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from future HA events.
