Erik Henry Vick is an author who happens to be disabled by an autoimmune disease (also known as his Personal Monster™). He writes to hang on to the few remaining shreds of his sanity. His current favorite genres to write are dark fantasy and horror.

He lives in Western New York with his wife, Supergirl; their son; a Rottweiler named after a god of thunder; and two extremely psychotic cats. He fights his Personal Monster™ daily with humor, pain medicine, and funny T-shirts.

In the meantime, he'd like to invite you to check out his blog:

My reading over the years has offered many contenders: Xanth, Narnia, Ringworld, the world of the First Law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie, etc., but today, I'd pick Gilead from Stephen King's Dark Tower series (but Gilead before the fall). A close second would be the world of the Shattered Sea series by Joe Abercrombie. I also won't mind visiting the world of my upcoming series, either, but since no one but me has read that yet... Maybe after Errant Gods is released, I'll come back and edit this :)(less)

Didn't see that one coming, didja?) and refuse to acknowledge it in any way. I don't even look at it. If it talks to me, I sing sections from the Sound of Music. I used to hit it with a hammer (I am Norwegian, after all), but I got complaints about the noise.

This may sound like a joke, but it isn't: you can't feed writer's block, because if you do, it will stick around. If I'm feeling stuck, I write something else -- a short story, a different chapter, or the beginning of a different novel -- or spend time writing notes about what I think will happen later in the book. Listening to loud music while I work helps a lot. I don't think writer's block likes the same music I do.

Sometimes I pretend to be Stephen King, but that usually just ends with Thad Beaumont calling me up and telling me to quit it.(less)

Aimee Ann of redheadedbookloverblog.com reviewed Rooms of Ruin recently. You may recall her other reviews of my work: Demon King, and Errant Gods. Once again, her review is very complimentary:

“Overall Rooms of Ruin is a stellar, captivating and engaging piece of fantasy that will surely compel its readers to read from beginning to end at a fast pace. If you are a reader who wants to be shocke...
