I was that way when I first started it. But, after the first chapter or two, you'll start cruising along.

Yeah it's grown a little more interesting now. Sometimes the author almost seems long winded, other times I really like his writing. Guess I just have to get used to him.

I haven't had much reading time the past two days (sniff, sniff), but am eager to get some more of the story done today since Harry has come on board. He fascinates me so far.

A very good character. I loved the scene where he discovered more than he bargained for when he attempted to help "rescue" the inhabitant of the bombed estate during WWII.

I thought that was a very original scene. He did "rescue" him, though...

I love his character. His ability to extract the expertise and information from the dead to take care of his step-father was great!

I finished the book today - very happy I tried it again. The beginning still felt a little sluggish but after that the story flew by.

Still reading. Is everyone else finished?
I'm not yet Katy. I have maybe 100 or so pages left but this is going to be a busy week like last week was so I doubt I'll have time to read any until the weekend.

to be honest, I'm not liking it as much as I thought I would. I want to know about the vampire in the ground or more about Giresci's research. the whole government, spy espionage stuff isn't my cup of tea. I'd love to read more about the people Harry can call upon.

I think I'm at 67%.
Latasha, some of the later books have less cold war stuff in them. (Some don't even take place in our reality.) Book 4 and on for the most part I think aren't too cold war-y, but it's been years since I read them.

I haven't read them, but based on the marketing, it'll probably be espionage stuff.
I'm not crazy about the spy and cold war stuff either. I sometimes skimmed a bit to get to the parts I was into. I ended up reading the second book after this one. Liked the first one better.

I just finished the book and I still feel the same about it. Harry's abilities were awesome and I did like Dragosani in the beginning. I don't think I'll read the others in the series but I'm glad I finally read this one.

Will read the next out of curiosity, heard the third is good

So far have read very little and havent' met Harry yet, but the writers style has grown on me more. The first page or two was rough for some reason, guess I have a lazy brain on Mondays.
