Selbi (selbster) Hey guys!

I love YA and Urban fantasy and I was wondering if anyone can suggest a few books where the heroine has hidden powers that are important to the storyline. I also wouldn't mind if there was also a guy or two who were protective of her but she doesn't really need them cause she becomes a badass character herself. I know that's a lot but if you know of any, please let me know!

Thank you!!!

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) The only ones I can think of that have HIDDEN powers are The Girl at Midnight (The Girl at Midnight, #1) by Melissa Grey and The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1) by Kelley Armstrong (kind of hidden)

Trisha | 30284 comments hmmmm..... I think these ones fit the bill and were the first to jump into my mind:

The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa Switched (Trylle Trilogy, #1) by Amanda Hocking My Soul to Take (Soul Screamers, #1) by Rachel Vincent Shade (Shade, #1) by Jeri Smith-Ready City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare

I hope you find one to love!

Kikijanika | 3055 comments Hmm... Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1) by Leigh Bardugo and Dark Light of Day (Noon Onyx, #1) by Jill Archer . But in Dark light of day it's not really a secret power that way because the heroine has kept it a secret from others. And The Scarlet Thread by Derek Murphy but it's only part one of the book, not the whole novel.

Shelby | 52 comments Something Witchy This Way Comes is a really good book and she has powers. Bound is also a good one along with Angelfall.

Kristie | 132 comments Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer Red Queen (Red Queen, #1) by Victoria Aveyard
Cinder is more of sci-fi than fantasy but the descripton fits the kind of heroine you are looking for.

ewa (ewam) | 11 comments Try Oram Kelly - Jamie Baker

message 12: by Selbi (new)

Selbi (selbster) I have read Jamie Baker series and loved them a lot! Just FYI, Demons at Deadnight by A&E Kirk, The darkest minds by Alexandra Bracken, Threads that bind by Brant Williams, Spellbound by Cara Lynn Shultz, and Lark by Erica Cope are really good too! I thought it's only fair to recommend back some books that also fit the similar description and I really hope you enjoy these if you decide to read them. I'll post some more suggestions later too if you'd like me to))

ewa (ewam) | 11 comments Sure, recommend what you liked best. Thank you.
The Darkest Minds: I just read the 1st one, definitely need to catch up. Right now, I am crazy about Throne of Glass and Sarah J. Maas :x.
