Michael Benavidez | 1203 comments Can't wait to see what you think of it Donna! may pick it up soon as I get some dinero

The Apocalypse short stories that i'm reading is turning out to be a disappointment and hard to continue reading, so I've decided to reread the Dark Tower series to even out my entertainment

Started The Troop by Nick Cutter...
Apparently this book scared the hell out of Stephen King. Makes it all the more interesting :)

Michael Benavidez | 1203 comments Going on book 4 of the Dark Tower saga, of the 8 (want to see how book 4.5 fits in as a whole haha) he's written for Roland

message 61: by Tabitha (new)

Tabitha Vohn I'm currently sloughing through Faulkner's Light in August. I picked up the "Summer of Faulkner" collection at a yard sale and was stoked.

Granted, I should have known what I was in for-having read As I Lay Dying, The Unvanquished, and A Rose for Emily, and being well-versed in Faulkner's morbidity.

It's been tough read, but I'm half way through and determined to finish. The prose is lovely, but the content is morbid, harsh, pessimistic. I guess that Faulkner in a nutshell, huh?

I'm foolishly hoping for a optimistic (if not happy) ending.

Can't say I've had the pleasure of reading Faulkner's short stories, or poems for that matter, but perhaps someday.

message 63: by Terri (new)

Terri The thingamadoodle on the bottom corner of my book says I have 1 hour & 38 min left to read my current book: A Choice of Darkness (A Pragmatic Police Novel, #1) by Jon D. Kurtz . This really is one of the best books I've EVER read!

message 67: by Terri (new)

Terri Just to kick this off once again, I am currently reading Malicious by James Raven . So far so good but yikes! Extremely Sexually Explicit! I think this would be considered an Erotic Thriller! The premise AWESOME! I'm not sure what I'd do in her situation...

message 68: by Donna (new)

Donna | 3463 comments Mod

Buried by Matt Shaw :D

message 78: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Marshall (goodreadscomkellymarshall) | 33 comments I am reading Joyce Carol Oates The Accursed. I am working my way through it. I know she's a brilliant writer, but it's just so odd. Sometimes I'm enamored and sometimes I just need something more down and dirty that moves. I did the same thing with The Goldfinch. When I was done with the Goldfinch, I thought, what the hell! Is that all there is?
