It's been a quite active month for me with 20 books completed so far.My 5★ reads this month:
My worst single★ read this month:
( I've reserved a couple of punches for the hero and a long lecture on "Give yourself more credit and stop hanging onto that loser, Woman!" for the heroine)
Best Audio ★★★★★

<-great book; was a “re-read via my ears”; the narration was good, but not “blow-your-socks-off.”

<- This last one others might not rate this high; however, it is by one of my "go-to/comfort" authors.
Of course, I'm still listening to
and that is looking great, as usual. Plus, I have a couple more I have open. So... I may be back before the end of the month.
I've been wondering about Midnight Crossroad. Glad you liked it Lisa Kay.After a long reading drought, I had a very good month. I had no 5 star books at all before May. Now I have several. Seems I needed to dip more into the thriller section. In order I read them:
Also had some nice 4 stars:
I got through this book so quick. I read it for both Bookworm Bitches group and *Best Sellers* Book Club. I had been wanting to read this since it came out and I was so happy that two of my groups were doing it for their reads.

Lisa Kay wrote: "You couldn't, Susan? You finish almost everything, don't you?"I do finish almost everything, there have been very few I've left mid-book. I feel really guilty about not finishing, but it was slow moving and the subject matter was not to my liking.
Well, I know you've stayed with more than a couple that I gave up on. Don't feel guilty. Reading time is precious.

- Loved it!"Love your review, KarenF. I'm reading it now, when breaking from Skin Game - and am truly enjoying it.
Thanks Lisa Kay! It's such a fun book. Funnily enough I'm listening to Skin Game too. I've been avoiding the buddy read thread because I think you're all ahead of me.

We are doing DQs Karen . We've divided the book to 6 parts and you can see the link for it on the first page. You can answer the first part of DQs if you like. chapter 1-10
I think I had a rough month this past month. I took it "off" to focus on some of my longer running challenges, but overall though, it just seems like I disliked more than I enjoyed of what I read. Let's see how it breaks down:Five Star
Four Star
Three Star
Two Star
One Star
Three stars are a mediocre read for me and while I like them, I much prefer my 4 or 5 star reads! But 12 two star reads...*sigh* rough month for sure!
ShoSho wrote: "Wow Trea !40 books in a months? I don't think you can call that a rough a month!!"*laughs* Eh, some were novellas that I read in less than a day and started (and finished!) a second book on the same day, so looking at it that way, it's not as impressive. But when 15 out of the 40 are a one or two star read...yeah, I consider that kinda rough!
Gigi wrote: "Trea, you're my hero!!! I'm trying to finish 2. Lol"*laughs* Gigi, it helps that I'm a stay at home mom with a son in preschool 4 mornings a week! 3 hours of reading time in the morning, 2-3 hours of reading time a night makes it easier to finish a book in a day. Sure, I spend a little time checking GR, my e-mail, Facebook, or gaming on Rift or World of Warcraft, but that takes maybe an hour of time at most. Plus, on the nights I can't sleep, I wind up reading anyway!
I read 12 books this month and most of all are PNR.My 4,5-5 stars:
: I don't know why I'm so stubborn to decline read this. Love Kaleb and Sahara!
: OMG, guys! If you love PNR mix with suspense, you must read this! Cynthia Eden's books are very, very underrated
: Pretty cover and great story as well!4 stars but recommended to read:
- this is erotica, despite a "not-erotic" cover. But the issue of this book related with problem in real world. Prepare tissue when read this :)
: If you fans of Charley Davidson, you will like this oneAlso read
. More like 3,5 stars for me. I did't found this one as funny, but another think otherwise, so maybe it's just me *shrug*And that's my May read. So happy to find so many great books to read :)
I had a pretty good month overall, with my lowest rating being 3-stars.
was definitely my favourite for the month, and a pleasant surprise as I had read one of Laura Frantz's books before and enjoyed it, but not loved it.
was probably my "worst" book of the month at 3-stars, but I honestly wouldn't have chosen it if it hadn't been free on Audible, so I'm not going to complain too much. 5 Stars:

Rachel, how was
? I know you rated it 4 stars, but I'm a bit behind on the series and really want to get to that one at some point. I loved the premise...one of my favorite movies is Seven Brides for Seven Brothers!
ShoSho, I thoroughly enjoyed that instalment in the series! I hadn't been such a big fan of Angel's Peak, the previous book, but this one reminded me of why I enjoy Virgin River so much :)Trea, I definitely didn't enjoy The Kissing Bridge as much as Tricia's other Amish novels. It was a really tough one to rate. I think my main gripe was that most of the book took place over the space of a week, and it felt like the romance developed a bit too quickly. The conflict mainly revolved around the characters keeping secrets from each other, which isn't a favourite of mine. It was a really sweet story, I won't deny that, and I liked the chance to revisit characters from previous books (including ones from the Big Sky series). I swung between not liking the lack of a conventional plot structure, and enjoying seeing the characters learn to trust each other. Not a favourite, but sweet enough.
As for the series, I loved the previous two books. I felt like they dealt with deeper issues than this one, without detracting from the romance.

Thanks for the details! I actually haven't read the Big Sky series, but I think I'm going to have to move it up in the TBR now, just so I can follow what happens in this series. I don't remember being lost in the first book of this series, but I'm a bit OCD and want all my backstory first.
The references aren't the kind that would make you feel too confused, but I'd still recommend reading the Big Sky series as it's one of my favourites! It's a lot deeper than typical Amish fiction, and has a lot less of the "The Amish lifestyle is perfect and lovely and everyone should be Amish!" feel that some books in the genre have.
