Tricia Goyer has done it again, writing a book and you get to the ending that is breath-taking, priceless. God really gave her a powerful message to use and between the two of them it was written with powerful words to make a story come to life.

Rebecca witnessed something tragic happen growing up and ever since then she's determined to take that tragic event and turn it into something positive for all. She feels called from God to be a nurse, but to be a nurse she must venture out into the Engli

I enjoyed this book very much. Tricia Goyer shows us over and over how talented she is. This story was a bit different than most Amish stories. It doesn't center on the Amish faith, so much with all the rules and regulations. But the story centers on the people, and their faith in Christ. Very interesting story, and definitely a story to share with your friends and family. It was wonderful to connect with Marianna and Ben again too. I love when we get to glimpse into the lives of characters from ...more

My Thoughts On The Book: This was a great book to conclude the Seven Bachelors Series. I have read all the books and was able to move from book to book with ease. The reader would not have to have prior knowlede of the characters. The setting and theme ae really the only things the series books have in common. I was quite drawn to Goyer's description of the area around West Kootenai, Montana. My favorite part of this story involved the by chance meeting of Rebecca and Caleb. Here were two young ...more

What makes a great read? Well, I don't have a definitive answer for that, because for me, it varies. I look at each book independently and choose what stood out for me with that particular book. However, one thing I can say for sure is that if I have various scenes from a book that run through my head long after I'm finished reading it, that's a pretty good indicator that it was most definitely a great read. And The Kissing Bridge fits that description to a T. Without revealing any of the plot, ...more

It’s always fun to read a book that is part of a continuing story.

And I really hope we get 7 books out of this series!

Tricia Goyer certainly has a deep well of story lines. Each book of hers that I have read is clearly original. There is no feel of having read the same story in a slightly different form over and over again.

Tricia continues the story that began with The Memory Jar – beautifully in The Kissing Bridge. We see some familiar characters and we meet new ones.

And we get to enjoy the fam

A story of faith. Rebecca lost a sister and felt called to leave Amish community to pursue nursing. She felt a call to help others so they would not have to die like her sister while she stood by helpless.
She stops in Montana to see a friend who had left the Amish community. There Amish and English lived together in a community.
She meets Caleb, a risk taker. He wants an Amish wife but one with spunk.
Both Rebecca and Caleb find faith in God.

I liked this book because Rebecca and Caleb were so much alike. They were both ready to leave their Amish community because they thought that the grass was greener on the other side. What they did not count on was God having a plan fo them. God threw them together on a journey that only they could take. The more they traveled they realized that they were running away from their past only to discover their future. “The day of her sister’s death had also started Rebecca on her path to leaving the Amish.”

Graduating from high school, going to college, becoming a nurse… none of these things describe an Amish girl, but because of her sister’s death, those are things Rebecca Troyer strives to do. She won’t be caught unprepared for another emergency, not when she can learn the skills that could help save lives. Abandoning her family and Amish ways, she sets off on a journey to gain a worldly e

The horrible feeling of helplessness Rebecca felt when her sister died after giving birth has burned a desire in Rebecca’s heart: a desire to help others, a desire to know what to do in the event of a medical emergency, and a desire to fulfill a calling from God. In order to live out those desires, Rebecca must figure out how to fulfill her dream. Will she have to choose between the Amish life and the life of the Englisch? Is there a way to work toward her goal while still living among the Amish ...more

Overall, and honestly, I didn't think "The Kissing Bridge" was as good as "The Promise Box". Unlike the last book, I struggled to connect with the characters. This is purely a personal judgement, but I just couldn't come to understand them. Why did Rebecca have to run away? If Rebecca truly didn't judge Marianna, why was their friendship now full of secrets and holes? Caleb initially falls in love with Rebecca because he thinks she is daring, yet Rebecca is turned off by Caleb's wild ways...so h ...more

Rebecca Troyer watched her older sister, Claudia, slip away from her just minutes after giving birth to her only son, helpless to do anything to stop her from leaving this world. It was then that she knew that God had called her to a life other than the one expected of an Amish woman—she was to become a nurse, and educate her Amish brethren about health concerns, so that deaths like Claudia’s could be prevented. Rebecca knows that her parents won’t understand her desire to nurse, so she hides he ...more

As I read this book I could understand what was going on & how the people in the story felt. There were ups & downs during the story. I had to keep reading to see what would happen next. “The Kissing Bridge” by Tricia Goyer is the third book of her 'Seven Brides for Seven Bachelor's' series though it is a great stand alone book. I got so frustrated with this book for frankly I didn't know what to expect from one page to another for nothing was going the way I thought that it should for it wasn't following any predictable path. Of the three books I have read in the series, this is by far my favorite one. The premise is unlike no other Amish story I have read.
Tricia's books always stir up emotions in me, and have me evaluating my own relationship wit God, but this story had me looking at compassion and judgement in a whole new way. The fact that we all judge people, even the Amish do it, mad me stop a think quite a bit. Rebecca's parents were so harsh and judged her for her wanting a nursing education. They see it as an

Oh, Tricia did great with this book! I loved the characters in this story, there were a few from the first two books in the series, and I love Millie's "God Box". There is a lot going on in this book and Tricia keeps you wanting to keep on reading. There is a wonderful ending too! I'm guessing there are more books coming in this series and I am anxiously waiting for it, it's not even listed anywhere yet so she's keeping us guessing on that I guess.

I liked this book, but not quite as much as the others in the series. Caleb seemed a little one-dimensional at times, though towards the end, we got to see into his heart and how he grew and learned. Rebecca also grew and learned, and I really appreciated that character development.
I think I'm going to have to look at Tricia Goyer's earlier books. Marianna and Ben's story was hinted at in the previous book, and in this one, but I want to know how they met! :)

I found this to be an interesting story about a unique Amish situation. I can't imagine the heartbreak of losing a sister and feeling partly to blame and I admired Rebecca's determination to do something about it. I loved that we got to see more of Marianna and some other characters that were in previous books. I thought the romance was very quick; I like to see more development in relationships. The fact that Goyer put the salvation message in her story was wonderful and I loved the discussion ...more

Another fantastic book by Tricia Goyer. I absolutely love the seven brides for seven brothers series. I think we all at one time or another have to make a decision about our lives. This book is a perfect portrayal of one decision that some make at times. Rebecca and Caleb both have to come to terms of their past and look toward the future.

Loved it! Another great, sweet Amish story by Tricia Goyer. I think one of the things I liked the best were the honest internal struggles of Rebecca and Caleb. How many of us don't wonder if we're making the right choices? And how often do I forget about the depth of God's grace?
Great read. Check it out.

A wonderful book. I could hardly put it down, read it in just over 24 hours. Superb. Had been waiting for this third book in the series...now have to wait for the next one.

Loss. It is hard. It really changes you. 'God' had brought these two together who were both running from fear, pain and loss (actually the author did but the story feels so real). Were they ready for their lives to change??? because the moment they met things changed. Their future was altered.

Pros: This was a great concluding book to the series! Although none of the characters relate to each other from book to book, the setting is kind of the same: in or around West Kootenai, Montana. I loved that Rebecca and Caleb meet by chance, as they're both running away from something. They are both deciding whether or not to leave the Amish church, so it was lovely reading how that pulled them close together. I think you'll find the ending satisfying--it was sort of what I expected, but there ...more
