A book with a cat on the cover
After thorough search on various threads like this, I decided to read How to Tell If Your Cat Is Plotting to Kill You. I've seen various posts about this, and I'm totally going to relate to this book based on my experience with my neighbor's cat. I'm a huge fan of graphic novels and sequential art, and I felt disappointed digging in this book with so many expectations. Although the book made me giggle, it was really didn't feel any different than reading any pet comic or post on tumblr.
Hoping to read better books for other prompts.
I read the latest in Alan Bradley's Flavia de Luce mystery series, Thrice the Brinded Cat Hath Mewed.
Robin Bo wrote: "Not sure if this has been mentioned (I'll admit, I only skimmed through the posts) but my copy of The Night Manager has a cat (of sorts) on it.
"Nice find! I kinda want to read this but I'm scared I'd be disappointed after how much I enjoyed the modernized TV version.
Today I saw a cat cover with a title I found very amusing (which also appears to be a Halloween book)
Death By Pumpkin Spice
I will be reading A Little Bush Maid
for this prompt. I own a paperback copy, the one I'll be reading, and an antique clothbound copy, that I won't be reading as it's too fragile, which I got from my paternal grandmother. I've been wanting to read this series from the beginning for a very long time. I first got the fourth book in the series when I was 10 and I read it a number of times, but I've never gotten around to reading any of the other books in the series, finally I'm taking the opportunity 22 years later.
I loved The Cat who came in from the Cold by Deric Longden. So many laugh out loud moments. Also Under the Paw by Tom Cox.
Mirel wrote: "actually, I've noticed that some books have several different jackets with different pictures. Can one use a book whose physical cover doesn't have a cat if there is another version of the same book..."Absolutely! In your tracing list just paste the cover with the cat on your shelf put which you want. Most of us read on their language but tracks the originals.
Margie wrote: "Just remembered that 2 A.M. at The Cat's Pajamas is on my TBR. I heard an interview with the author on Too Many Damn Books podcast and she was so interesting."A really good book! I loved it and it's a quick read!
Ashley wrote: "Mindy wrote: "I think I'll check out The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury. Lions are cats, right? They didn't specify what type of cat."This is easily my favorite Bradbury book, and ..."
Yay! I don't know anything about it, but it sounds interesting. I don't know that I've read any Bradbury books.

This is exactly why I've only seen the first episode and am waiting to read the book. I know it is different with regards to setting and some of the characters have been altered....
I'm sure I'll enjoy both!
It picked up this book, along with another by the same author, on a bargain table at Books a Million. Maeve's Times: In Her Own Words by Maeve Binchy. I've heard a lot of people talk about Maeve and how much they love her, so I thought I'd give this a try.
Not sure how great the books would be but here's another possibility for cats on the cover:https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/7...
I don't know if anyone has mentioned the Mrs. Murphy mystery series by Rita Mae Brown. There are 26 books in the series and every one of them has a cat on the cover!
I know a lot of people are reading A Man Called Ove for other things, but for those of you that like to knock out multiple prompts at once, it has a cat on the cover.
Death of a Dapper Snowman is free on Amazon, Google, and Kobo today...It's a cozy mystery if you're into that kind of book.
I just noticed the little cat on the cover of my copy of Castle in the Air which has made me very happy. I was going to read it for the book that had been on TBR list for too long any way so this frees up that category for me.
I'm surprised by how few cats I have on my shelves! Here are the one I found:
One Bloody Thing after Another, Joey Comeau
Complete Poems by Elizabeth Bishop
Making History by Stephen Fry
Coraline and Other Stories by Neil Gaiman
The Chronicles of Chrestomanci, vol 1 (Chrestmancy 1 & 2), Diana Wynne Jones
The Princess Dairies, Meg Cabot
Finally I found something that interests me! Cartwheeling in Thunderstorms has a tiger on the cover. It's also recommended by Obama, so could fit that prompt as well.
A Season with the Witch: The Magic and Mayhem of Halloween in Salem, Massachusetts is what I'm planning on reading. It's small, but there is a cat on the cover!
I was in the library looking for Doctor Sleep to see if they had a version with a cat on the cover, and stumbled upon The Moment of Everything instead, which looks cute, so I'm going to read that. I had tried to read The Master and Margarita for this prompt, which seems like a fantastic story, but just couldn't get into it for whatever reason.
. Pet Sematary. I am doing a personal challenge of 12 Stephen King Books in 12 months, so there are several King books on my list this year.
One of Phillip Pullman's Dark Materials has a cat on its cover, can't remember which one or what edition.Tamora Pierce's Alanna Chronicles also has a cat on one of the books.
As do several of Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling novels.
One of my escapist series all have cats on the covers -- the Joe Grey books by Sheila Rousseau Murphy.
Oh, there's another Terry Pratchett book (beside the The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents): The Unadulterated Cat.
Tamora Pierce's Alanna Chronicles also has a cat on one of the books.I know there are a variety of editions, but for me The Woman Who Rides Like a Man (book 3) is the one with a cat on the cover. I highly, highly recommend this series, by the way! I fell in love with them as a child and I'm pretty sure they still hold up. We'll see when I reread them for the "book I loved as a child".
I just picked up Murakami's Kafka on the Shore to read during our blizzard today and saw by chance that there is a cat on the cover
Im doing Soy un gato and in the same path of japanese authors I strongly recommend Kafka in the Shore by Murakami.
I am reading Pie to my toddler. It's such a sweet book. I get the benefit of reading a book with a cat on the cover and he gets the benefit of being read a loud a great book
Fannie wrote: "Thanks poshpenny, I didn't think of The Paper Menagerie and Other Stories."That was going to be my suggestion, it's a really good book
Just picked up a copy of The Three Lives of Thomasina by Paul Gallico at my local used bookstore. It was a favorite movie of mine when I was young, and there is a cat on the cover (well Thomasina IS a cat, after all!).
I ended up reading Dr Sleep because I found the one with the cat on it. I also thought it was perfect after reading The Shining for the hotel theme.
I read Alan Bradley's Thrice the Brinded Cat Hath Mewed for this (It's a mystery set post WWII, a young girl with a love of chemistry is the lead though this is not written like it's YA. It's written for an adult audience).
I read The Amazing Hamweenie. Funny cute book, laughed a lot. Any cat owner would love it! And sympathize .
I've been wanting to read Varjak Paw ever since I saw the cat on the cover, so it seems perfect for this prompt.

"I never heard of this book but that's a great cover!
