See You Later
The two teens he meets are sent back in time to help him get a certain girl and to prevent that girl from being with her current boyfriend because it affects the future.
There are also these, Christopher Pike's Tales of Terror, Christopher Pike's Tales of Terror: Volume 2

Samina, it's not the book you linked (Invasion of the No-ones). I don't think I read anything in the Spooksville series - I mainly read his older books.
Gracie, it's not See You Later - I'm sure I did read that, and probably got the time travel plot mixed up with the story I am actually looking for.
The one I'm looking for is definitely a short story and was published in a collection. It could be one of the Tales of Terror, but I can't find enough details about the stories to rule them in or out.
Did you try the star group? Its short and has aliens and something about connecting minds or something...hope it helps.

All I can remember of this story is that there were some kind of supernatural beings (maybe aliens) which took control of the minds of a group of high school students. I forget what their objective was, but I don't think it was malicious. May have been something like "we need to stop this couple getting together to alter the course of history" or something like that.
I remember it being a funny story because the supernatural beings were very intelligent and highly evolved (I'm not sure if they even had physical bodies) but they got totally caught up in the drama of the lives of these high school students and started to think and talk like teenagers.
It could have been a story by Christopher Pike, but I've done loads of googling and can't find a detailed enough outline of his short stories to rule them in or out. All the stories of his that I've read about don't sound like the one I am looking for (I've been through pretty much all of the GR reviews of his). Any help appreciated.
