Well, Sarah, let me tell you. It is not so much reasoning as individual experience, and while I can't expect you to support my stance over your own experience, in a world where so many let hate separate them, I hope that you will put aside what you yourself feel, and embrace instead my feelings, and in this way let hate bring us together.

But, okay, it's just a consequence of being a parent. There was this one Strawberry Shortcake tape, my daughter's favorite for about six months when she was whatever age it is when you like Strawberry Shortcake, which coincided with the age when you watch things over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

She will still occasionally mention the mysterious disappearance of that tape.

I can't imagine anything coming between us after this, Sarah. Unless it was that you still get to smoke, while I savagely chew piece after piece of nicotine gum, all the while thinking about cigarettes and resenting everybody that still smokes.
